So you signalled him (V) while blasting past him?? @ 168kph
In that case you- did you want him to show you same respect by First overtaking you , then signaling his respect and then slow down to his usual cruise speed?

^^ You expect, he is riding at 168kmph, first stop, then keep up other rider's pace, then show him the sign and then continue his ride?
Afaik he did what we all do.

I don't expect anyone to wave or pay his homage or respect or whatever.
I don't complain either when i don't get waved back.
I always thought you could wave or show a sign to someone coming from opposite side . how on earth the guy who has just overtaken someone going in same direction going to know if the rider waved back or not?

We have a rider here who is wondering about reaction of another motorists when he blasted past! And he did not like not getting a reaction from a Harley.
I don't think we have a Harley rider here looking for approval.

The reaction he expected was not of overtaking him but for the biker sign he showed. He must have expected that the other rider would respond in some friendly gesture

Whats wrong in it? He overtook another rider and just guessing or asking in his sub conscious mind, what the other rider thought. Thats it, why making a fuss out of it?

He is guessing/ asking his whatever mind? On an online public forum? With Green ugly similes??
And I am making fuss about it?

We all know in what sense that post ( post 251) was made! No one needs to be a psychologist to read that.

I hope you got the answer for not getting respect on the road.
On internet your words and pictures get you by , on Road your behaviour does!

Ugly Smilies - He used "Big Grin", whats ugly about it?
What sense the post is? - Is the post talking to you? Or can you see what the member is thinking while he posts something.
Psychologist - No, just some sensible thinking

Internet Behavior - Anyone using smilies should be termed and taken in opposite sense?
Road Behavior - That means , anyone who overtakes you is (as per you) not right?

Why cant we accept that he did what he felt he should do, is it so difficult to "agree to disagree" and move ahead without pointing bike names and terming them "benchmark".
Period from my end, you can continue feeling bad that he just overtook someone riding Harley

Ohh I am sorry! I did not know you find Green Grin attractive.

And I tell you I am elated. Every time people overtake a Harley , they need to mention it. That says a lot about a Brands Value. Its not something earned in a fortnight.
Also people feel respected as Riders if they get waved back by HOGs.
We have 5-6 threads running on ownership of Harleys. I have never seen even one guy mention that he overtook a vehicle from X brand.
May be Harleys never ever overtake anything. Who cares, I have not seen any owner complaining about it either

Chill guys! I did not mean to offend any Harley rider at all! And I never meant to prove anything which meant a brand X is faster than brand Y. [Infact I love the Harley NightRod!] Overtook just another guy on the road.

I just went out to test my GPS app.

I am sure Satya meant no offence. Just something he mentioned to give a perspective of his speed.
I have passed Harleys many times and never found any need to mention it. More often that not I run into solo Harley guys, who are very friendly and wave back. I dont feel respected , I feel part of the brotherhood.

However, groups of Harleys (not sure if they qualify officially as HOGs), just create a huge ruckus wherever they go. A lot of noise and they end up going nowhere. Absolute nuisance. I am not saying thats the case everywhere, but just from my personal experience.

I guess HOG being such a large social network. You will find all sort of people. Those who want to travel long will do so , those who are out for a breakfast ride every now and then enjoy it that way.
Its fine till the time people enjoy there ride without thinking others are not enjoying as much as they are.

When HOGs travel alone , their behavior is their personal choice , consequences their own. When the travel in full fledged packs they get police escorts through all major cities. Because any large groups behaviour is quite unpredictable. Be it a religious group , a nations group or a biker group.
Power of unity , even police don't want trouble they cant handle.
