Re: Kawasaki Z800 - Dream Comes True
i noticed that the thailand group of z800 owners have flashed the ecu chip to remove the factory restrictions. It was also noted the powerr at real wheel at dyno is only 80 bhp which works to 90 ish at crank. After ref lash (costing 10 k rupees) it gets 100 bhp at rear wheel and does wheelies at gentle twist of the throttle.! They are puzzled as to why its been advertised as 112 bhp. ( a similar issue is going on in triumph forum )

Kawasaki Z800 - Dream Comes True
Info is not false regarding z 800 , it's a dyno value . The point is kawa is using a different set of parameters to come to that value . Pls check triumph website regarding power , nobody is sure regarding triumph s new set of published values , the dealers are my close friends and they haven't got any info in this regard . For kawasaki the advt power is 112 bhp . Question ? Is it at rear wheel or crank ? Answer is crank . Dyno gives rear rear wheel value only , but if u convert you get 90 .hence the puzzleLast edited by drsureshmohan; 11-28-2014, 09:57 AM.

Re: Kawasaki Z800 - Dream Comes True
This is a surprise news doc. I checked Overview | kawasaki and now i don't see power and torque figures. I don't remember whether these figures were mentioned earlier on website.Originally posted by drsureshmohan View Posti noticed that the thailand group of z800 owners have flashed the ecu chip to remove the factory restrictions. Re: Kawasaki Z800 - Dream Comes True
Checked with my friend who is head of kawasaki india , he told me the company has a set of friction values and specs which is a secret and the outside agency dynos do not know the frictional value between tyre and roller . He would get back to me when he meets the jap counterpart

I guess they want to keep power figures secret too. But as a head he should be knowing power figures at crank right?Originally posted by drsureshmohan View PostChecked with my friend who is head of kawasaki india , he told me the company has a set of friction values and specs which is a secret and the outside agency dynos do not know the frictional value between tyre and roller . Re: Kawasaki Z800 - Dream Comes True
Also we have to keep in mind there are four models of Z800.
Z800 A/B/C/D. Starting from 90 to 112 hp. Each market has a different version. With different licensing laws. In India we get the A model with ABS. And the most powerful.
