87BHP at wheel means a loss of around 20%. Is this ok?

Yes this is normal , I've seen many dynos from across the world , ask any senior dyno guy and they will tell u there s a 5 -8 % variation in the frictional force applied at the wheel . The criteria followed by kawasaki will not be revealed , I was told

I think website claims it as 113PS. On converting to bhp it comes to 111.5bhp.
I have used below link to convert.

Yes.. as per RD guys, there is 20% loss on the Dyno test so when calculated at crank its 109 which is decent enough.. now i use unleaded so they say it does make a difference if you use Super .. i will be doing a test with super petrol for a good 100KM and see if that makes a difference...

Was there any discussion on most observed loss on Dyno vs Crank-Spec, like 25% or 30% esp if motorcycles are not well maintained?

A physiological relief for Street Triple owners. But I think even 79 bhp for Street Triple too was on Crank only, so what could possibly be going to the wheel?

if its 79BHP on crank, then assuming the loss of 20%, it will approx 63BHP on wheel.. or may be less .. but in my opinion.. does it really matter.. 79, 109, 200.. how much do we use on Indian roads.. if you are riding on track, then yes, may be it matters.. but otherwise it doesnt...

My wild guess is they at Brazil or UK would have run on 91 petrol as a research and found burnt engine valves in about 25 k on the odo ,hence a reccomendation would have been made in the interest of long life .Just guessing

You are right about the use of available bhp but do you always test a AGV Corsa helmet by crashing in real and the answer is NO. I am just saying everyone should get what they thought they are buying with their hard earned money at the time of purchase.

oh yes! what happened was never right.. even i wouldnt be happy knowing i paid for a 106BHP bike and got a 79BHP bike.. no one would be.. my point was in terms of what you mentioned by psychological relief...
there is no relief here for ST owners as they feel cheated or upset.. unfortunately, the bike is what it is.. you just move on... and hope in some way the company will compensate..

be it any bhp, my point was if you love to ride, you will ride.. no matter what the bike is...

P.S i have crash tested a "Cross" helmet back in 2007, head first.. must say its impressive

Yes I agree it's a feeling of being led to buy a product thinking its 106 bhp which is really unfair . I sincerely hope it's just a case of remapping . Ah yes before I forget , the z 800 after re map gets 100 bhp at the rear wheel at RS 10 k in Thailand . It s called ECU unleashed ( Google it) . Dealers have no way of finding out -)

if only we had good roads sir.. else what is the point.. with the wind blast hitting hard after 150kmph, the bike is decent for what it offers.. i ride a lot with Pillion so usually keeping it at 140-150 which is decent on our highways

I agree that too with such lean AFR settings I'm getting constant 17-18 kmpl ; same as my hi torque RD 350 ! If u like wheelies with no effort/ no deceleration popping you can flash it .otherwise no big deal and fully agree with you sir .
