  • About two weeks back we planned a long ride down NH 6 but were sent back by a massive 15 kms traffic jam... Wanted to share a picture... Also, bike completed 6k kms that day..

NH6, later I learned that this is a very common phenomenon on this stretch of NH6 .

This part of the road is empty as further back the road is blocked so total both sides the jam's length was about 20 kms....

If there is anything i can help you with just post up as i have acquired a little bit of knowledge about these bikes from working on my own...
my guess as well since the starter moter was not coming on at all perhaps the battery is not charging

i first suspected with the fuse was blown ( i checked all of them, they were fine)
second could be the battery does not have enough power to turn the engine which could be causing the clicking of the relay , but since the lights seemed to be very bright and only when one pressed the start button was the bike going through a complete self check the problem could be the starter is stuck and sucking up voltage . This i remember from my old car that use to frequently have this problem one use a spanner to turn the starter to a position then it would work. I guess i need to get the service manual for this bike.

The Honda guys would be going down to check the problem should get an update by the evening, at least they have been generous to offer to go to the location of the bike to check it out. They guy tells me that the battery is weak and could not crank the engine, he is charging the battery and will refit..The irritating part is he tells me that it is my fault as i might have tried to start the bike with the engine emergency switch in off position causing the battery to drain to this point !!!! the cheek of the guy..

I still think the root of the problem is with the charging circuit since i drove about 25 km with the highbeem on and enging was around 3-4K rpm causing the battery to discharge. I have requested him to check the same.

@aryan : I did give a miss call to Ankush last night, I must say thanks to Ankush from Nariana showroom as he even called me back at 1 am in the night to resaaure me that tommorow morning the things will be taken care of, he was very helpful. I have asked him for a written warrenty along with terms and conditions from the company as well since there is no proof that they are offering a warrenty on the bike (owner manual is blank on this part)

All new bikes may or may not have defects but when we pay good money for the same we want one without any problem. Especially not problems related to loose connections of terminals, rectifiers, etc.

To the owner, I doubt you will get back a refund for this minor but irritating problem that can leave you stranded far far away from your destination.

You don't buy a superbike for instant stardom, where ever u go, you buy the bike for its engineering marvel, its outright performance, at least you should, otherwise your nothing more than a poser with big pockets.

              See this picture

As you can see, the redline is from 13K RPM and the idle RPM is around 1200 RPM.
You can buy a super bike for anything you need. Just take care of the bike and yourself and be responsible on the road.
              Cheers

                  • @werewolf : honda has good service backup the went to the location and fixed the bike for me all on the phone. mileage is 14-15 for me.
biggest con if you like to showoff this bike can pass off unnoticed(because its is fast and grey) unless static it is not a great looker(it grows on your) also 95+ octane fuel requirment and great feeling of confidence and control

i should really start my ownership thread
