i heard of one guy in mumbai paid 26K for his first service.
This is because of the oil Honda imports from Japan. I was also told to pay this but we later we agreed on a local castrol brand.
Btw, who is this guy ? I have not yet spoken to anyone in this country who owns a fireblade... would love to be in touch with people to share info on bike ....

He did not get ripped off. The oil HOnda is importing from Japan is priced around 6-6.5K per litre. And I am sure Honda is not lying about it as the oil goes through various excise/taxes...

    Me was returning from work.....DRAT!
oh, you should have waved or something.
Yeah , I was totally dressed except for bike shoes.... and was running late
Ride was uneventful, marred by 15kms of traffic jam on NH6, then a puncture on Ninja, then rains.....
Did 320 kms without a refuell (which i think is an achievement)
Anyways, hoping to go on a longer ride soon....
May the torque be with you..

      • 6-6.5k per litre?? that would be absolutely ridiculous. oil for these bikes is about 60 AUS dollars for 4 litres here. selling it for AUD150/litre cant be right. no matter how much excise you put on it it cant be 1500 percent.

I am sure everyone including me would welcome your thread and your fireblade.
Yes the bike does make a loud thud sound while engaging first gear. Most of these bikes do. It will smooth out a bit later on, but will remain.
              Its normal.

              • Although i havent got to write about my bike yet,6 days old and 200km it has already started to give problems - it doesnt start and i refulled rode it 25km it was fine no sign of problems then 3 hr later i decide to go home...
                but..

its 12:30 in the night and i am stuck in gurgaon because the bike will not start. The system doesnot even show an error. If i press the self there is a loud clicking sound no strater and teh enging does a self check again.

Stranded in the middle of the night by a bike that has proved unreliable.
it sound like the starter is stuck and the relay is clicking away - somehting that use to happen in old cars.. i really appricate the baja p220 2 year lots of problem but it always got me home no matter what.

i should ask honda for a refund. i think they are dumping the faulty bikes into this country..u can sue them here

                  • Damn!!!!
Stranded with a superbike after midnight away from home.
                    Shame on Honda.
I wonder what kind of PDI they have done.

                    • Guys i have been reading ur posts and must there is alot usefull information... But at the same time u guys are missing out a few points. Every superbike when built from factory has a few defects.... The bike that broke down and won't start.. Don't panic first things first take the seat off and make sure the battery connections are in properly... As sometimes the smallest things in these bikes can make them malfunction. Also check the rectifer to make sure it's plugged in.... little things make these bikes what they are and when these things go it's really hard to diagnose the problem when ur angry... The Honda CBR RR is a great bike they only draw by with the Honda is the rectifier.... this has been the problem with Honda from 1994.....

One more thing is i see you guys are using 97... Octane???? . We at the most use 94 octane. 97 octane contains a higher percent of ethanol.... The Yamaha's usually suffer the most from syndrome. Also when ethnol level is higher you feel a lack of performance in low RPM's but in higher speeds it tends to perform well....

                        Is it ??? Arrrgggh !!
Wish you had told this to me earlier !! I recently changed the stock rectifier of my Aquila to one from the Honda CB400 !!!
Kawasaki Ninja : Because lazy sunday afternoons should be despatched at 160 kmph!!!
Hyosung Aquila : Because sometimes you need to look cool while riding at 40 kmph and you can do that only on a cruiser !!!

                        • Yes for some reason The honda rectifers would always clunk just like for example the The gsxr stators would always clunk or for instance the Yamaha had the second gear issue for a long time..... Always keep in mind these bikes have tip over sensors... So if the sensor was off even by the smallest fraction the bike would not start...... If there is anything i can help you with just post up as i have acquired a little bit of knowledge about these bikes from working on my own...

Oh sh**. This is so sad. So what is the status now ?

Honda sure is taking alot of bashing on xbhp these days and I cannot defend it anymore. Actions speak louder than words. Malfunctioning of a premium superbike like this is unforgivable... Hope they fixed it asap. Please let us know what happened.
