  • Guys, which batteries are you using? I can't seem to find a 12v 12ah battery. I am currently using an Amaron 12v 9ah battery. I guess exide used to have the backer battery which was rated at 12 v 14 ah - but it seems to have been discontinued.

So which batteries are available today that do 12v 12ah/14ah?

    Thanks

    • Use the bullet exide battery, you can get that from any RE store... You might have to chip off a plastic bit beneath the seat..

        • I found the exide backer battery. Its huge compared to the battery slot and would def. need to resize the seat to get it working.

no need to resize the seat. The under seat has a little plastic nob which is used to hold the smaller battery in place.. Chip that off and the battery will fit. Plus the 14A battery is very good. Sunil uses it. But I was relectant to chip of the plastic bit(like you ) and went for a costly import battery. But it couldnt stand the load and went off in 8 months. then I sourced another one - Amron which is okish. But nothing like backer

                • You're right. The chipping off part makes me a bit queasy. I currently have the Amaron probike 12v 9ah battery and that doesn't last 2 days. Which Amaron do you have?

                  • My mechanic bought a "Tata" battery, for my comet few days back. from khar. I'll put up the details real soon...
i am riding my comet gt250 today, after many months...i must say that the bike still rocks..
electric wire harness, cdi unit, lock and fuel set, battery are all new. Riding it after riding around on a monster is a big big difference. Exhaust note is low key (which I like) :-)
                    Don't forget to wave :-)

I guess the Tata battery should be just fine for your Hyosung bike

                          • Looks like the choices are the Exide backer and seat chip vs Yuasa ultra expensive battery

My hyosung is an older version and has the fuel pump and it needs to be replaced. Has anyone tried any local fuel pump? Any experiences?
