    Small upgrade on my comet.
Got aftermarket levers fitted on the bike. The pazzo levers that Rockyyy had got me from US. Thanks Ashwin
Initially the levers were not fitting as is. Had to replace the front brake yoke and altered the clutch lever to fit the clutch mounting.
Also replaced the stock brake lines with steel braided lines. Braking has become better and more crisp.

Next up chain-sprocket set replacement and will probably try the aftermarket rearset on the bike.

Yesterday only I got it fitted finally after the adjustments pal.

The brake lines had a small air gap due to which the brake wasn't that sharp. but now it is all fixed and working perfectly.

Mahesh had a pair of Micheline Pilot road 2
front 120-60-17 & rear 160-60-17, was coating 21K ( I paid 23.5 from him for the same !!) if you are interested call him at 9448708513.

Our Akhil rossiter also mentioned that he could source a Michiline Pilot Sports rear for R1 ( i guess 180-50-17 ?) from Micheline dealer in Bangalore for 12K INR

personally I loved the pilot sports for its grip in straight line.

I doubt if MRF has a 160 rear, you can get the MRF 140-60-17 (FZ tyre for) 1700 I guess, its good for dry riding but not wet or gravel.

                          Cheers

If you can find a Comet owner in Bbsr/Cuttack, it would definitely help you gain insight about ownership experience! Till date I have never seen a Comet/Aquilla in all my time in Bbsr/Cuttack
Actually, Tripathy babu, there are two comets in CTC however no aquilas of which I know.

Yes, spares are a dream in Orissa for Comets. I had a clutch lever made for one of the owners who busted the bike. We could not even find a spare clutch lever.

                                Hello all,
                                Bumping this thread up.
Came across a Comet 250 with a mechanic near my house. The bikes in not too bad a condition cosmetically but mechanically its pretty sound (his words).

Its a red color bike that has been lying with him for a couple of months, I saw it and thought of taking it up.

I dont know what year it is but can hazard a guess of around 2002/2003 vintage. How much do you think I should quote for it?

Since I stay in Bombay, how difficult/easy will it be to source parts? I will be going back in the evening today to take a test ride, will also take a few pictures and post it for you guys to see.

                                Looking forward to your replies.

                                Thanks,
                                Hiren
