Comet GT250 OwnerShip Thread.

Hello all,
Bumping this thread up.
Came across a Comet 250 with a mechanic near my house. The bikes in not too bad a condition cosmetically but mechanically its pretty sound (his words).

Its a red color bike that has been lying with him for a couple of months, I saw it and thought of taking it up.

I dont know what year it is but can hazard a guess of around 2002/2003 vintage. How much do you think I should quote for it?

Since I stay in Bombay, how difficult/easy will it be to source parts? I will be going back in the evening today to take a test ride, will also take a few pictures and post it for you guys to see.

I don't think that would be a 2002 or 2003 bike, because they weren't there in India then. It might be 05 or 06 model. If anyone is interested in a Comet, I might be selling it. You can mail me at [email protected] or call me at +91 9845 123 554.

Performance Racing Store (mumbai) / Bachoo Motors (Mumbai) have started selling spares for the comet.

I have added them on FB and saw that they have clutch plates, brake kits, tires etc. for the comet.

This should help comet owners.

I saw their (Bachoo motors) comet clutch plate posting on eBay. It is pretty expensive, somewhere around 5k. If somebody orders from RichardHyosung Korea, it shouldn't cost more than 4000/- (60$ + 25$ or less for shipping) with shipping charges. I would say just check the prices around or over the web and then buy....

I have a GV250, not the GT250. Recently I gave the bike for repairs (before faiyaz was recommended) to a mech. named Vinod - with his garage in Dadar. Stay clear of him. Interacting with him was generally to hear lies after lies after lies. Finally got my bike back after two weeks when it was a two day job.

Will get in touch with Faiyaz and check how he does.

Now, any experiences with Larry Cook Hyosung 650 Jet Kits

These jetkits improve the performance for the bikes quite a bit. A ton of discussions can be found on another forum called alternativecruisers.com

I've already ordered one. Hopefully faiyaz can do a good job of installing it. Or any other recommendations on mechs in mumbai who can do a reliable job?
