I have Rewinded the charging coil of my rx100 using the 19 gauge wire and I'm pretty satisfied with the results....
Should I start a new DIY thread for it???

Please do. I am curious about the procedure. Personally, i prefer a 90/100 kit over winding.

Yes please that will be of great help to me and to others also as my bike is also running on 6volts and thinking of converting it to 12volts, but still not able to convert it to 12 volts because of the scarcity of an proper thread on this issue.

Will ape rr unit work on existing stock coil plate for better illumination? Also, isn't ape rr unit is ran on DC than AC? I'm hearing that if there is a better RR say RDD's, Ron himself said that it illuminates better than stock could give out. Probably I'm missing something here but definitely there's something to learn I thought.

My RXG is running with 2 RR units.
- Stock unit for charging battery
- additional one (from m80) to power the HL (Coil is winded for higher wattage)

I'm not an expert when it comes to electricals, even I was not there with the mechanic when this mod was done.
can someone throw some light how this is being done and how does it help

are you sure Mr.Boss Sir that the second RR unit is not used for charging the battery from the lighting coils power and then powering the headlight directly from the battery??

Just wondering why would you need two different RR's on your setup when one can serve the purpose.
I guess the mod is done in this way - for the lighting purpose the mech would have pulled out the two necessary terminals from the stock RR and mated them with the respective terminals from the coil harness to make the lights working. In this manner this RR is not actually working as a RR but only and as a "regulator" and not "Rectifier".
The remaining two terminals on the coil harness then might have been attached to the M80 RR for the bat charging purpose. And in this case the RR is not working as a regulator but only as rectifier.
My suggestion would be check the voltage at the battery at high revs. If the job is done good then the voltage at bat will not cross 13.4V. Which means that the mech would have pulled a bypass from the main harness to make the M80 RR not only as rectifier but also a regulator.

Cheers
