Did you install a bigger battery in your RXG
If not then, how did you increase the intensity of your headlight...
coil upgrade or rewinding???

----consecutive posts auto-merged-----

Also if you rewinded the coil how much did it cost or what was the cost of the new oil......

Both my RX135 & RXG is with stock electrical set-up (OE coil + 2.5A battery)
I don't mean to increase the light intensity. Installing the DCM Toyota / Swaraj Mazda reflector with 12V 35/35W bulb (stock spec) will give a better throw when compared with OE reflector.

I was informed around 750~1000 for coil rewinding. As I wasn't interested in doing it, didn't do further research.

Shreyas, how old are your coils? If they are too old, why dont you try a new coil plate first? It doesnt cost much.

Guys finally.....I have a solution for all RX owners for the poor torch lighting.............
Thank you all for your help and guidance.........
And special thanks to abhijeet080808 for his DIY on the custom RR
So.. here's what I did...
If you are running on stock coils then 2 wires should come out of your coil......
One should be Yellow/Red (Y/R) and the other one should be plain White (w)
Now,if you track down the two wires then you'll see that the Y/R wire goes to the Headlight and the W one goes to the stock RR unit
What we need to do is Bypass the W wire and reroute it as the input to our Custom RR unit and bypass the Y/R wire and keep it disconnected
You have to unground the Stock RR unit too........
As for me. I've placed my RR unit below seat.....
Pics will be coming soon but for now only wiring diagram of stock setup........

The First is the stock wiring setup and the second one is the Custom wiring after installing the Custom RR unit

• Re: Random Questions regarding the RX series

I think you are using half the coil now. Why not go ahead and rewind the coil and make a single big coil that feeds the RR unit? You will easily be able to use a 60/55W h/l.

abhijeet080808 sir,
that was my first thought but in my area I am unable to find a reputed guy to do this and my mech says that very less guys do the rewinding process very carefully these days,
and I was about to pm you because on higher rpm, around 6000...
the voltage from RR rises to around 30 V.....

----consecutive posts auto-merged-----

can I rewind the coil myself,I'm familiar with the process of rewinding because I rewind the blown speakers of my music system frequently...........

• Re: Random Questions regarding the RX series

Always measure RR unit o/p with a battery connected. If you get anything above 15V with battery connected, there is an issue somewhere in the RR unit or its connections to coil.

Ya actually with the battery connected it was coming around 16-17 V......
Is it alright?????

No, it should be 14.5 ish at the max. Maybe you can get the APE RR unit.

Rewinding is similar. Just that the wires will me thicker.

1) Cut the area behind air filter (this can accommodate the battery in transverse direction)
2) Additional compartment (side box)

EDIT:
Not sure if 9A battery is of same size as 5A.
I have seen a 5A battery being fitted in RX by suggestion No. 1

9ah is simply too big , go for the 5ah one it should be easier to accommodate once you remove the oil tank ,

Is there any way to accommodate the 5Ah battery along with the stock airfilter + oiltank???
And 9Ah battery is just as a standby which I use in my experiments.........
