Btw mine stickering cost is 650 above the paint cost i know this is expensive a bit but due to auto charge ( logistics from painted to sticker shop 20km 1 side) in chennai its become expensive 😆😆

This is coming up very good man so happy to see ur bike getting assembled better first to have the wheels tyres ready and assemble the fork make the bike stand on them and then assemble the mudgaurd if not u will spoil the crome in the edges as this will lead to rust and moreover thats the place where generaly during rains the dirt+ mud with water gets mixed up and fly from ur tyre to that corner.

We are eagerly awaiting your tank and shiled 😍

Thanks bro. Yes the paint cost is for the entire bike and it is inclusive of the sticker cost, anti-rust inner coat, and clear coat. All monograms on Rx are plastic with chrome coating and my original monograms are all intact and shining so no replacement. As for anti-rust, my tank had some rust in it which I wanted removed. But once that was done petrol or no petrol the rust would come back so I got the coating.

The mudguard is loose fitted for the pic as was the seat. It was taken off after. Wheels are not yet ready as I am still hunting for a good set of tyres and sturdy rims. I found the hh ones to be flimsy. But lets see. In the meantime the bike'll be assembled with the old wheels for support.

At what stage of painting the tank is the anti-rust coat applied? How is it applied, sprayed or brushed? I'm repainting mine simultaneously as yours, I want to talk to the painter about anti-rust cost application.

Even my painting charges are also quoted 7000rs. You mentioned chrome charges as 400rs, what all parts? When I enquired about chrome plating my mudguards and silencer, they quoted 3000rs..

      FYI, I'm from Kerala

Inner anti rust is done post complete scrub down of tank to bare metal. It can also be done just after the first coat of primer. Outer is done post scrub down and before primer coat. It is sprayed as there is no way to do it otherwise.
My mudguards were 28years old so no chroming. It had to be replaced. And chrome on silencer was good so I'm getting it polished. The other small bits and bobs only cost 400/- to chrome.

Finally both the gathering and painting jobs are over. Just got the tank and side covers and I have to say, the painter did an absolutely fabulous job of it. The paint is of absolute original shade of peacock green-blue. Will post a few pics tonight and the assembly starts on monday which will take less than a week. Only polishing of the tail pipe remains.

bro it's come out super cool man......and the paint looks very close and a neat job from your painter..the colour in the pic shows more reddish may be because of the photo and the graphics lines on the tank looks old did u manage to buy a old stock original and i cud see a small hump or cut in the inner thin line of the graphics was that cut by accident?

again over all well matched colour i think this is the first time this has been redone in xBHP , I may be wrong

Thanks bro. The reddish colour is as you said, because of the camera. In person the tank looks almost original. The white stripes are not old but they are gloss sparkling white colour, that is why it looks old in the pic as the camera failed to capture ita shine because of the lighting. The bump you saw in the stripe is the seam where it joins, that is why it looks like that but you can't feel it by touch. Overall I think the film bond has been applied to perfection and the painter gaurentees the colour will not fade for at least two years.

Thanks man. The final outcome you should see sooner than you think. The assembly has already begun and will be done max by next week on Wednesday. Then its off to running in the bike which should be fun like the old days.

It only cost 400/- for chrome and buffing+polish. I still can't believe it.
