Good decision ! and while you start using it, you can rebuild the old tank and keep it for future.

Sri, you are correct. Its a Mikuni VM24 (Made in Japan). Thats why i had marked with the Pen near the 2T oil inlet for easy identification which says "2YA 00".

          • Hi!! I'm on the verge of installing 90/100 kit but heard from couple of guys that the bike dosen't run well after it's installation. IS it true ? I've never seen anyone complaining about the kit so far through the threads. What can be an alternative for a brighter light effect apart from 90/100 kit ?

RX100 - 2T Oil guage, very old one. Though the paint on the marking look intact, but the plating on the needle looks depleted due to age I thought.

While you start using the new tank, you can get the older one rebuilt and epoxy coated from inside to avoid rust.
Doc what coating are You talking about? Could You provide more info on that?

Hello Ram, no problem. But let me explain as to why i don't put up the rates:
                            1. Firstly when the post goes live, it stays here for months or maybe years. Prospective buyers come to me asking for the product, let us say a "4Y2" bore for the price i have mentioned say 10months ago, do you think the prices will be the same? It will basically lead into confusion & then chances are i will lose the said order.Every order is unique with its own customization.

                            2. Next, with the dollar prices fluctuating, our prices also vary a lot. Let me explain this more clearly. If you take the exchange rates between USD & INR for last 1 Year, the Minimum value was 1USD = 48.6 INR & Maximum value being 1USD = 57.13 INR (Source www.xe.com). Now suppose i get a bore for say 100USD, for minimum limit it would be Rs.4860/- and for maximum limit it would be Rs.5713/-, thats a difference of approx Rs.1000/- !!!!!!!!! We are talking only hundered dollars here, if it was 1000 USD, the change would be in excess of Rs.10,000/- !!!!!!!! That is a huge difference just owing to dollar fluctuation.

                            3. Coming to last but not the least point --------> The source. We have multiple sources & all of them charge differently depending on their financial situation, market demand & ofcourse most importantly availability. The band is huge to even discuss here.

So how can i commit on a value straight away when i myself will not be knowing what is our landing cost. These item values can't be forecasted. And also we dont keep these items in stock. Its more of make-to-order basis. If you go through this section in brief i had already mentioned this limitation long back when i was dealing with Indian bores.

Let me take a classical live case that happened with me with our very own member on xbhp long ago. I received an enquiry for 5-speed bore long ago, the then pricing was quite low & the pricing i got after receipt of payment from my sources were 1.5 times the original pricing. I had no option but to cancel the order & refund the amount to customer. All this happend becuase of a silly ad i put up in xbhp classifieds in 2010 for 5-speed bore. To my surprise i get enquires of this bore even to date for the 2Yr old pricing lol !!!!!!!!

Hope i have clarified my point.

                            Regards,

Completely Understood Karthik, Appreciate the effort taken to explain how things work. Just a small clarification. Do you think that even a ball park figure keeping costs on the higher side for us to know how much will each cost isn't possible too?

Say a product is priced at 5$
Landing cost for you is 8$
Ball park figure to a potential seller keeping everything in mind should be somewhere 10-12$ Excluding Shipping

Won't this kind of Ball park figure also isn't possible?

Again, if it isn't possible. It's totally cool.

Just anxious about how much Moolah would be required to get these. Again don't want to PM and trouble you like Window Shoppers. Hope you understand and I'm sure this would be running in every two stroke enthusiasts mind here.
