Well the tyre is sturdy and comes in 140/70-17 profile. Rear height would increase marginally. I am yet to see a single puncture in these 2 years of riding. It offers good grip but does fishtail sometimes on very hard braking (which even the stock does). Had costed me 2700 then, should be costing a few hundreds more now.

The only negative is that the tyre is heavy when compared to the PSD or the stock. Rear tyre air pressure should not be kept more than 33 and incase if you change to a new chain sprocket, it is advised to keep the chain setting on the third or fourth bar on the swingarm. If not, the engine would heat up more. Secondly being heavy, the front and forks would experience a bit more load while braking so proper use of brakes must be applied.
My verdict - Overall its a great tyre and I am satisfied with it.

Hope this helps. This was all I could conclude from my observation. Ride safe.

As mentioned in my previous post both the dry and wet grip are better than Revz.
Pirelli is not a bad choice at all and offers good dry and wet grip. But Pirelli SD doesnot have the ISI mark.
I'm quite certain that you will not be disappointed by Dunlop TG.
3200 is the price quoted in almost all the shops I have inquired. Not a bad price. I got my Dunlop from Tyre Plaza, Kazhakootam, for 3100.
You can also search the universal thread for tyres to check out the views of other users.
What about punctures friend. I'm tired of punctures in my stock tyres for fzs.

Sold my FZ 2 1/2 years ago. So I don't know anything more about the long term usage.

Its time to change Rear Tyre of my FZ, ODO 27685kms
            Some brands in my mind.

            1.Dunlop Tuff Grip - 140-70/17
            2.MRF Zapper Q - 140-70/17 or 130-70/17
            or suggest which is best.
            please suggest, better one.
Roads in my area are not smooth as city road, once suffered from lots of puncture in Stock/current tyre (Almost 19 there) dont want to repeat it with my next tyre.
Mileage doesn't mean for me, i am looking for Good Handling, Grip, braking, Cornering and tuff riding.

              Hi yog7!
i hav a fazer (model 2014) kick starter, which is identically same as fz & fz-s, going to the topic, if u change the rear tyre from stock 140/60-R17 to New Size 140/70-R17, The problem will be:
              a) Bike Aerodynamics will be changed into sporty mode, rather than relax mode.
              b) More load on palms since rear wheel is is lifted around 28mm, which is approx an inch n quite more.
              c) The Chain sprocket (front) gets damaged due to turning larger wheel. (since wheel diameter is increased.)
Better to stick on stock tyres and may try for MRF Revs 150-60, R17.
              Regards
              Saikat

The Continental tyre fitted in the Honda cbr250 is a perfect fit for the Fz

I own a FZ16. And it has clocked 20k kilometers (14 months old).
At Around 16k kilometers, the stock tires started to wear on just the right side of the tire. The left and the middle portion still looks top notch.
Now the right side is scarily bad. So I ordered the Michelin pilot sporty 140/70-17 on snap deal for 3575. The delivery will be tomorrow.

Anyway, my main concern is the one-sided wear out. I met at least 9-10 mechanics who claim that this is the "curse" of the FZ models.

I would like to know if any of you had experienced the same and is there any way to make sure my new tires don't end up the same way.

Its not just with fz, but all vehicles have this type of wear. Maybe the roads are tapered a bit to have rain water go to one side and this puts extra pressure on one side of the tyre.

                    Ride safe and have fun.

Got the Michelin Pilot Sporty 140/70-17 from snap deal for 3575/-. They said the tyres have reached the blue dart office and will be delivered on Monday. I instead went and collected in person. And I got it installed too. ☺

A side by side comparison with the stock worn out tyre. Hoping the new tires won't wear out on one side like the stock because it is round instead of flat-wide like the stock.

The tyre hugger didn't need to be removed. But I'm guessing it might touch the tyre when going through potholes or so. If it does, I might remove it.

The bike feels very tall now. I'll post a ride quality review in a month after my 1500kms ride from Coimbatore to Mumbai on the first week of June.

You probably are correct. But my pulsar didn't have this issue with any of the three tyres I used on it for 7 years. I really hope it gets rectified with the round tyres that I've installed now.

Search the MRF for authorised dealers in your area / state.

I changed the rear tyre of my bike at 25000 kms. I opted for Michelin Pilot Sporty 140/70. I do have a problem of fish-tailing on wet surfaces. Gradual braking also throws the bike left and right. But once the tyre is warm enough, it has a good grip. The flickabitlty of the bike has increased enormously. Throwing it on the corners is easier as compared to the stock 140/60.
