Posting this on behalf of a friend..

I am looking for some carriage capacity for a RE Classic 500 in the form of panniers/ saddlebags/ otherwise. This is for usage predominantly within cities and short distances. Currently have shortlisted the following options:

    Viaterra Claw - http://www.xbhp.com/talkies/universa...lt-review.html

    Dirtsack - </title> <link rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" href="http://dirtsack.in/css/less.css" /> <link rel="shortcut icon" href="http://dirtsack.in/images/icon.ico"> <link rel="shortcut icon" href="http://dirtsack.in/images/favicon.png"> <script type="text/

Viaterra ranger - Motorcycle Touring, ViaTerra Ranger - Saddlebags

Have already gone through RG's Claw review. Any other options that you can suggest?

          Protective luggage for helmets

Hello fellas! It's been a while since I purchased quality protection for my head, but now I need protection for my protection. I need a bag that will hold and protect my Airoh Speedfire full-face helmet.

          The parameters are-
          1. Should comfortably hold any full-face lid (Except the adventure/ MotoX dual-sport types)
          2. Fabric and construction should have tough exterior and gentle inner with some padding to protect the lid
          3. Should be easily wearable- either as backpack or slingbag
          4. Versatility to use it as tankbag or saddlebag will be added bonus

          Budget- Approx 2k (negotiable)
          Bike- Red Pulsar 200DTSi

Now I've been doing some research on desi options present and here's the list-

          1. Cramster LAPLACE 4.0 - Laptop Backpack with Helmet Holder (Biker Utility Packs, LAPLACE 4.0 - Laptop Backpack with Helmet Holder)

My thoughts- Seems like a very convenient solution but has a few flaws- The helmet holder is just shoehorned onto a regular laptop backpack. Also I already have a very capable Targus laptop backpack + a spare one lyin around. Don't need a 3rd one.....oh and did I mention that I don't' own a laptop?.
Secondly protection is suspect- the lid is just HELD by a polyester/ nylon cover that has no padding. Thirdly, I had checked it out last year and the build quality of the entire bag wasn't too good- very ordinary and average....
          2. Rynox Optimus-M/S (RYNOX GEARS)

My thoughts- Rynox gear has the best quality that I've seen on any desi gear. But it comes at a price. Pun intended. Though I've yet to check as how comfortably a FF lid fits, the bag will offer good protection and is versatile too. Though as pointed out in earlier posts, it's a lil tedious to convert it from magnetic tankbag to backpack. This is some way off my budget and as I'm primarily looking for a helmetbag and not tankbag, it's not primary contender right now.
          3. Dirtsack Forester Neo (http://www.dirtsack.in/index.php/dir...product_view/3)

Depending on the capacity to carry a FF lid, this has been shortlisted. Price and quality balance seems to be apt.

Haven't shortlisted the Cramster turtle as the design is too clunky and again the quality as reviewed by others is substandard.

          Now, some interesting videshi options

          1. TourMaster Select Lid Pack Bag (TourMaster Select Lid Pack Bag | MotoSport India)

This is a nifty piece- It seems to offer good protection, can be used as a slingbag and while riding can be used as a tailbag too. Price is tad high but looks like the quality can compensate. The catch is I can't see the product in person + right now don't know what's the final cost with shipping.

          2. Vega Joey Gear Bag (Vega Joey Gear Bag | MotoSport India)

This was my 1st choice earlier but have realized that this again will only let me lug the lid around without much protection. Plus the rope straps will hurt the shoulders

Wanted to know if anyone here has shipped anything from motosport.com. How's the experience + service?

EDIT- Have I missed out on any options out there? Do y'all suggest something else that might fit the bill?

The ViaTerra Claw can devour any kind/size of helmet. But then it can't be converted into a backpack and is more of a serious touring accessory.

Cramster Turtle Magnetic Tank Bag For My Blue Bird

Today, I rode to Cramster, Cunningham Road, and bought a Turtle magnetic tank bag costing 1,800 for my Blue Bird. A board announcing 'Out for lunch - call xxxxx' greeted me, when I was at Cramster's entrance at 3:15 pm today. I called the number and the store-keeper opened the door from inside immediately. Perhaps, I disturbed his afternoon siesta!

Thanks Kunwar. Then I'm gonna let it pass as I don't want more scratches and scuffmarks on my lid....have enough already!

However, I noticed that though Dirtsack doesn't say anything about fitting a FFH, Cramster claims it will "hold any FFH"- Tankbags, TURTLE - Magnetic Tank bag . Both of them have 16L capacity and in fact, the Turtle's dimensions are smaller than the Forester's!

Have you guys noticed, with the cramster turtle on the 220, when the handle is turned to the left completely the horn switch gets pushed and starts blaring horn in full blast..!!! Had this problem a few time, and it is annoying..!!

                      Cheers

yes, not only with P220 but all pulsars. but that also mean that you have to reposition the bag slightly towards rear.

Nope , tried adjusting to the most backward position possible , the problem exists. It is something to do with the design of the bag. Not such a big issue, but at tight situations can get very annoying.
