I have used a 55W bulb and it was working fine without any problems. But, now I want to use 2*55W auxiliary lamps, 2*roots horns. What will be the changes that will be needed for this set-up. Also, Is there anything that needs tobe done rather than coil rewinding and RR change?? I mean the diagram provided on the 1st page showed some cutting of ground wires and bypassing wiring harness?? will that needed tobe done?

    Thanks for the reply.

the load you want to pull is simply not possible in a bike.yes for a moment like 15-30 min it can be used but these kind of loads=55/60 main bulb+(55watt*2= 110 watts)+horns=170 watts+horns+other stock loads, which is simply not possible.as

as from your earlier posts you said that you have used 55/60 bulb for 1 hour or so.with the charging rate of ~4 amps its simply not possible to run the load ,why.well the your bike in stock can support max of 48~50 watts of load.any more then then this can be supported form the battery but the battery will be drained,CONFUSED?

think the battery as a overhead water tank of house.the pump is pushing water to the tank from ground @ 4 lit /min.now you are using a tap which drains @3.5 lit per min.if the tank is small also and the pump is running then the tank will not be empty because the 1/2 lit water is storing /min.
now what will happen if you drain a 5 lit of water from the tank?
for first few moment it will supply but in reality the tank will get empty even if the pump is running.

the same thing happened with your case where the bulb supported for an hour or so.but in real life bumper to bumper traffic combined with occasional highway rides if you keep the light on the battery will die.just turn on your light and ride when ever you are riding,by this if your bike can support the system for 100 kms ,the load is equal or less then the generates.

the max load can be pulled from a pulsars 8 pole coil with rr change in full working condition where if you use the full load also the battery will not go down at any circumstance is max 120 watts.

I have heard that a 220 FI coil generates 200W, look at the link below:

2nd Updated post for Pulsar 220 DtsFI (look at the lines before tha last two pictures)

Will replacing the coil with that of the 220 do the job.

        • Expecting too much !! I would say keep it stock and plonk HID in 1 spot light or main light. Spending on APE RR or P220 coil + RR makes no sense. End of day HID will be powerful than what ever lights u put up.

              theoretically yes,but practically its not.
p 220 is having 3 phase 18 pole stator.from 18 pole the pot put is more at least 15~17 amps but thats in high rpm,not in low rpm,so not worth for taking risk.

AFAIK its the best place to get it done but its expensive.

Any idea how much they charge to get a coil rewinding done with 19guage wire?

Thanks guys. Cleared my doubt. One more query:

I will be putting 2 air horns to produce more sound, I will be using a switch so that I can also use my stock horn most of the time. I will be using those air horns occasionally or only on highways, Will it drain battery? I think that as the horns consumes battery for a short period of time then it will not fully discharge the battery if I use it occasionally.

Which bike do you have ?? AFAIK they charge 950rs for the rewinding + custom RR unit. 150rs labor for removing and putting back coil.

UG4 models, u dont need to isolate the the gnd as its already done.

I dont know the P220 stator cover is a direct fit for 180 UG4, but Dr. says its possible.

Is it worth? It will cost a bomb for the cover, magnet and u need to change the RR to the 3 phase P220 RR. There also wire cutting is required, U can do the same by just rewinding for a max of 500/-, for the RR for 1100/ and other misc exp another 500/ total will be around 2K.

Which one will u go for? Choice is urs.

Bring the bike to me, I'll do it for you free. Just a bottle of hand wash more than enough. I think Shree can do this for u in Bangy.

OMG, 2 air horns or 2 air pipes? Air horns are rated 10A or more, but wont do much strain to it, I had a 3 pipe Stebel on my old good Samurai with a puny 2.5A batt with no issues. Stebel is good where Thunder drinks more juice.
