UG4 models, u dont need to isolate the the gnd as its already done.
I dont know the P220 stator cover is a direct fit for 180 UG4, but Dr. says its possible.
Is it worth? It will cost a bomb for the cover, magnet and u need to change the RR to the 3 phase P220 RR. There also wire cutting is required, U can do the same by just rewinding for a max of 500/-, for the RR for 1100/ and other misc exp another 500/ total will be around 2K.
Which one will u go for? Choice is urs.
Yes, the second setup is more better. rewinding the coil. But, as you guys have said that even rewinding will not support 3*55W + 2 air horns, so I am dropping the plan currently and instead I am looking for a Philips HID with projector.
OMG, 2 air horns or 2 air pipes? Air horns are rated 10A or more, but wont do much strain to it, I had a 3 pipe Stebel on my old good Samurai with a puny 2.5A batt with no issues. Stebel is good where Thunder drinks more juice.
help please...i own a hunk.
i fitted HID in my bike..its a bixenon..is there any specification(like 19 gauge wire etc) to say when giving for coil rewinding?
And is the APE rr unit easily available in most shops?

I guess you don't need rewinding if it has the same setup as in Unicorn !!
Which bike do you have ?? AFAIK they charge 950rs for the rewinding + custom RR unit. 150rs labor for removing and putting back coil.
Sorry missed this post, 950 rupees is pretty steep. Last week i enquired about rewinding from an electrician and he quoted 350 rupees. As you are telling that the Ruby guys will give me a custom RR too(Is it as robust as an APE rr??), should i go with their RR / Ape one?
Will they do just rewinding??
I have a Pulsar 18OUGIII...
I've put on the fairing n headlights of the R15 on my bike.
The electricals are stock as of right now.
i'm planning on having one projector in each side of the R15 headlight.
ie. two projectors in all with one HID in each projector.
would it be OK to have two HIDs and keep my headlights on AC???
would I have battery issues? or would it be OK?
or do i have to convert to all DC?
I've been running my bike on stock R15 headlights since Jan...
pilot lights + both bulbs on low beam + both bulbs on high beam.
haven't had any battery issues.

Get the rewinding from the guy who quoted 350/- and put APE RR. Custom RR given wont help in increasing charging. In simple its not meant for DC conversion.

what if I used a bridge rectifier circuit to run it off the AC from the magneto coil into headlight???
it was ages ago but... I think it was Sandeep_K_Ram who mentioned that this was possible.
wouldn't this minimize the probability of my battery draining out too???
No dude, HID needs a constant DC source. At idling rpm the dc output will be very less so it cant support the HID. You need to keep your bike at a minimum of 4k rpm at all times if u directly connect it by converting into DC. There is no other go other than using your battery to power HID, Just increase the charging rate thats it, you'll be done.
if i dont go for rewinding but if i fit the ape rr unit according to the second diagram how much increase in charging rate will be there guys?
both the low and high beams are hid...my hid is connected to the battery....
my bike is hunk guys..

What is ur current backup time with HID?. Try the setup in stock condition and go for any mods. If u r getting enough juice from the batt then no need to go for RR swap.

horn sounds very feeble and after some attempts of using self starter battery goes dead...other than that no problem HID doesnt turn off....
i have a stock ambition rectifier with me it has some 4 pins..how to connect them for coverting to dc?
pls help...
Pls tell us what is ur backup time with HID on? And what was the avg rpms during that time. Its critical.
Take the batt charging rate @ 3-5K rpm with a mm and post. RR swap we'll plan after taking the readings.
hid was on the whole time first 40kms was between 4-5 rpm and the rest 60 kms with rpm around 2.5....
il definitley post the reading tomorrow bro...
the whole time hid didnt turn off....
the readings were as follows:-
the electrician connected the multimeter to the battery and the readings were
1.without HID turned on
on gradually building the revs first multimeter read 13 till some 5 rpm i think and then changed to 14 in higher revs....
2.now with HID turned on:
on bulidings revs gradually it was 12 and slowly decreasing...
hello,
this is chirag.
new to this forum.
i hav cbz n want to convert it to dc operated.
In india we dont hav single phase full wave rr.
can i use three phase rr.
OR how to build a home made rr for my bike. t
Thanks in advance.
