dear all finally i had time to take and post pictures,
i have made my own led brake/tail lamp bulb with led's for my bike,and posted the pictures and circuit diagrams,


the amps meter.

Ganesh, ammeter nicely blends with the console doesnt look its an after market fitment. Stylish integration dude.

above abhi's rr on board fixed on a heatsink of defective ape's defective delhi rr.
the led light consumes 5watts for brake light and 1watts for park light,but its brightness exceeds the oem bulb21watts/5watts.actually the oem bulb was broken,and the metal part of bulb was used to fix the led board.

all console lights are led.

Excellent mod man, till date no one came up with a high power LED brake light solution and am sure that its very very bright and catchy too.

The circuit and the enclosure's got a professional touch, all components r placed very neatly.

BTW, how did u removed the epoxy from the RR enclosure? Could u able to follow the circuit they've followed?

One more, u've'nt given any heatsink to the 1W LED, will it conk off if the usage of brake light is so frequent?

Ok, so how about, I get the winding done from him & then use it along with the stock magnet? If there isn't sufficient power, what's the maximum damage that can happen? Any ideas?

Aargee, to be honest, I've'nt met any one who have done this as its not that easy as Pulsar or any other steeds. Its got a single coil to serve both purpose. What I suggested is out of logic that it should work. Honda steeds using a single coil to supply lighting as well as batt charging. Ruby electricals, Blr will rewind it with a thicker wire and will provide a separate RR for lighting to extract the max from the new coil. Reason, stock RR is not letting the xtra amps to the lighting circuit, instead its nourishing it to the charging line. So if u've any plans to go for HID, then only coil rewinding is more than enough or even not required for highway drives. Shree was using this setup even without coil rewinding for highway drives on his Unicorn.

I've even spoke to my auto electrician who's got a opinion that its a waste of money on Honda machines. He wont do anything other than coil rewinding and least faith in APE RR or anything like. Before my upgrade I asked him about the DC conversion but he was adament that its not possible, and once I've done with this, now he is saying that it wont last long

By taking consideration from Ruby, its quite possible and sure of it. Get it done

See, in your case, he'd to wind additional coil. But in this case, I'm only asking to wind 4+3 coils that's all. Are you saying that's also not sufficient?

Now this provokes another question. When the lighting coil is wound, wouldn't the charging coil also be affected due to this? Does this mean that the 5A battery for Activa will also start receiving more than the stock voltage? I don't want to disturb that part; or should I not touch the charging coil & wind only the lighting coil?

I didnt get that.. I was refering my friends bull which was supposed to run with a 55/60 halo. U've got only one coil which is winded on all 8 poles so can't be partially rewinded.

I guess u've got confused with other bike's stator coils which has 2 coils (4 poles for lighting+3 for charging).

Or am I wrong?...

regading rr i break opened the epoxy part with a nail and hammer.i used the aluminium heat sink alone,i arranged components on a common pcb so as to suite the holes for fixing scr and bridge rectifier.the circuit i used was abhi's circuit,which you only posted me,i used the same wires.i have to seal the whole unit with black or white silicone sealant,then it will become water proof.


everyone can use this relay,because it consumes only 40milliamps. previously i used roots relay,it consumed 800 milliamps.

Could u pls enlighten us by sharing some of the details of the High power LEDs and heat sink solutions. I've been looking for such a system which can be used as aux lamp which is consuming less power than the normal halos.

I've spotted SSC P7 12W high power LED






which can produce 900 lm, but it requires a proper heat sink solution and the available heatsinks are no compact enough to fit in an enclosure. And the pic u've shown is just a HP LED with heat sink base not with a heat sink right? I've came across with this as a heat sink for this.



And the LED mounting on the base and the base will be bolted to a good heat sink.

This one seems to be compact but not to be seen here.






This too seems to be bulky?

Can u give some compact types which can be used for this. Also types of optics (LED lens) to be chosen for this purpose.

I would like to buy hight power LED like 1 W or higher then that, can any one sugesst me where I can get that one in chennai?, I have searched for it in mount raod but could not find one.

If I convert my pulsar 150 in full DC (ungrounding lightning coil, connecting APE RR without re winding) will I able to use 60/55 headlight?
Currently I am using 60/55 with avenger coil plate, need advice on this.

buy as many led's as you want in pairs of 2 for white, 3 for red,
just add vf of leds+3volt will give you working voltage(9-12volt-depending upon your availability of voltage) with lm317 or lm350 as constant current source.
you can get 1watts and 3watt leds with heatsink base,in colours of warm white,white,red,green and orange. types lambertian,batwing,side emitters.
you have straw hat leds,5mm and 8mm types,super flux led 3mm and 5mm.
its better to buy either straw hat led of 8mm type which consumes 70ma,or 1 watt or 3watt luxeon leds with heatsink plate.if you use 8mm straw hat led or high flux led-there is no need for heat sinks.
btw what is your plan?

Its only 460lm! thats not adequate, even a 55W H3 Halogen can contribute 1450 lm so its not a good deal for approx 800/ bucks.

DX will take a min of 2 months to reach here once u make an order and am an avid customer too. Usually I get the stuff free of duty but at times they catch me

I am planing to change the roof and trunk ligtning of my car, I dont like the yellow (old) one, want to have high power LED. Right now I am using the LED strip in my car, under stearing console I used Blue LED strip on roof used white LED strip.

Will go to riche street by tomarrow and update u on the same.

Ebay prices are bit on the higher end for commonly available items, for the rare items we don't know the pricing and we need it desperately another gimmick

12W SSC P7 is charging here for 350 approx, driver another 300/ heat sink will add 200/ heatsink base for LED will be 35/-. Rates are 6 months old, can be variable. U can ask for any electronic spare shops for the LEDs, here they comes in 1000 LEDs roles and they will cut the strip on ur demand.

Roof lighting u can get a straight fit LED festoons which is very cool in the cabin. Stock festoons will heat up very quickly and good for winter as a room heater Am using this one in my car. Any car accessory shops will have this.
