P150 ug4
i wonder if anyone can tell me whether the new full DC P150 ug4 can support 55W bulb without any mod?
sometimes i see my battery indicator flashes in the console. so, if i use a 55w h/l will it last for atleast 9hours (i'm goin a tour which will involve me 400km of night riding) or i should stay with stock 35w H/L?
thanks 4 any help

Without changing the charging rate, seems not possible, but try replacing some cosole and position lamps with LEDs may help. But u can use an HID without any mods.Originally posted by mehsn View Posti wonder if anyone can tell me whether the new full DC P150 ug4 can support 55W bulb without any mod?

this is what i found in another thread..
so it should work on mine too.Not necessary, there won't be cut-off to 45w or anything. In a DC bike, u plonk in 100w, it will glow well till your battery is dried. So no need of disconnecting anything for 55/60w Osram NB.!!
what LED u were talkin about?
i see only the city light can be changed to led. what else?
sorry but how much a 55w equivalent HID kit will cost me?

i understood & accepted the fact that the battery wont last long but i wanted to know whether the 55w H/L can be used at its full power?that way how long the battery will last?
thanks for any help.
i dont want myself stranded in the highway having no lights

YES it can, as i answered in the other post as well. If the bike is running at a healthy speed say 40kmph then an all DC bike should not have any problem taking load of 55w bulb.Originally posted by mehsn View Posti understood & accepted the fact that the battery wont last long but i wanted to know whether the 55w H/L can be used at its full power?that way how long the battery will last?

Sajan, his a UG4 Pulsar which is all DC. I ve seen many using 55w flawlessly on their FZ, Fazer where stock is 35w.
When I could use 55w on my Uni without change in charging rate, why not a all DC bike
Note - You might face battery draining when you ride for long hours in bumper to bumper traffic conditions..!!
Putting APE RR on a bike which is already complete DC makes no sense unless the coil is upgraded.Originally posted by princesirohi View Postwhat sajjt is trying to say is that it battery wont last long.....what u can do is remove stock RR unit and replace with APE RR unit.

Shree, FZ have only one park light and less console lights than Pulsars. So there will be more power requirement, that was the point. Anyways let him try that and come to the conclusion.Originally posted by Shreeni0403 View PostYES it can, as i answered in the other post as well. Yeah, without rewinding, there's no point in changing the RR.
@mehsn, u can get the LEDs from car access shops in pairs and for console lights u may need some mods like Abhi has done. Try that as its worth to do for saving power.Do it Yourself, what so ever, if Possible

U can take Shreeni's as its more close to reality. I was just making sure that there should be enough power to the halo from saving console lights. Nothing wrong in trying with a borrowed bulb.Originally posted by mehsn View Posti feel sjjt is not confident about the idea of having 55/60W h/l without any mod..
in the other hand shreeni is quite sure 'bout the sucess with the drain issue...

Sorry for the late reply. Was offline. The inductance will cause a arc between the switch contacts while switching OFF and/or may short circuit the stator coil if you do the ON/OFF thing too often. Either way, your switch may burn out or the stator coil may overheat and burn. This is theoretical though. A single ON/OFF a day will not cause any harm though.Originally posted by princesirohi View Posthey can u explain what can be the problem with inductance?
Bottomline - better to use the switch while the engine is OFF, or use it sparingly with the engine ON.Your biking tells a lot about the person you are!
