is it possible that handle bar switch is malfunctioning or bcu is malfunctioning.Last edited by princesirohi; 04-28-2010, 06:12 PM.

I found these really useful articles and I thought I'd share them with those who might be interested.
Both articles are DIY methods and quite descriptive of the method.
My own tip: Buy only good quality coated copper wire if you want to DIY. In my experience, the cheap stuff has poor quality insulation coating and it tends to flake, peel or degrade quickly. The copper itself may not be pure (99.99%) and have a higher than acceptable resistivity.

a few days ago, I tried to retrofit HID bi xenon projector on honda vario techno (honda click).

as usual, first i modded its stator and install new full wave custom R/R.
then install 2 bixenon projectors.
here the results
only CCFL angel eyes on.

low lights on

hi lights on.

when engine idle, voltmeter showed 12.6V with 2 hid's on. on high rev over 4000RPM, showed 13.8V.
now, i have to lower headlight, because it seems too high. less lights on road.
Note:
the bike's owner applied v kool 40% window films to make headlight darker.I apologize for my terrible English ....

Hi everyone,
I m thinking of same conversion,but will use stock head light for sometime.Till then will convert tail,brake,indicators and dashboard light to LEDs.So two questions will the stock battery work(it is 4.5 AH) and do i have to change the RR unit.Cause i am not going to convert to HID in near future.Or will use 55/60w headlight.So since i am reducing load by using LEDs so do i require recoiling?Please help.NY:17
I will rather ride a slow bike fast than riding a fast bike slow.

Guys!
I'm Planning to Plonk a HID on my GS-150. Since my Headlights ,as many are aware of are pathetic and are on AC, I'm Planning to do a small Mod to enable the Use of HID's on my bike. I'm planning to do the wiring this way :
Dyno Lighting coil -> Custom/APE/GS1000R Rectifier -> Switchgear -> Relay -> HID ballast.
I'm Quite doubtful about the setup Ive mentioned above as the HID might Die during Idle or when I pull in the clutch. SO how about this:
Dyno Lighting Coil -> Rectifier-> battery -> Switchgear ->Relay -> HID ballast.
The drawback of this setup is that my battery life would come down. My Bike has a 9Ah Battery and am not sure about the Dyno Specs. My bike is bone stock now. No extra electricals have been fit. I'm not keen on Coil Rewinding, but might give it a shot if needed.
help me out guys!
Ragav
P.S. I've been a Radio Op for Almost 9 Years now, so I have no trouble building the rectifier (Yes constructing or homebrewing in my case), but nothing beats a properly finished and heatsinked one, so am very confused about this guys. Help!

^^Do you have the wiring diagram?
I suggest you use the circuit -
Dyno Lighting Coil -> RR unit AC o/p -> Rectifier-> battery -> Switchgear ->Relay -> HID ballast.
A bridge rectifier will work, but will supply only half of the power delivered by the AC coil o/p. (It will act as a half wave rectifier)
So you may need to save some power from other sources.
And best is to use car alternator diodes. They will be available from car electrical workshops.Your biking tells a lot about the person you are!

and what if i stick to the APE unit?
Dyno Lighting coil -> APE -> Switchgear -> relay -> Ballast?
No luck with the wiring diagram.
EDIT: oops sorry, didnt read it properly.
Dyno Lighting Coil -> RR unit AC o/p -> Full Wave Rectifier-> battery -> Switchgear ->Relay -> HID ballast.
would the above setup create overcharging. I can create a smart charging unit, but Im bad at housing it :PLast edited by felix.ragav; 06-25-2010, 10:33 PM.
