Tell them your job demands more of driving in the night under street lights and get opinion about your idea of rewinding. Then I am sure they will give you suggestions.

    Why not try adding additional/fog lamps mate?
    No buddy no good the stator is too much strung up to provide enough power even while travelling on twin high beams in b2b traffic the horn starts squeaking so to load this already fatigued stator with an additional 55w of fog lamp will not help me and as far the svc guys are concerned the yam guys in bhubaneswar are dumb f***ed morons they know nothing good about the bikes internals all they know is engine oil change filter change and other basics forget the complex electricals they even cant properly align the reflectors and adjust the light beams. So this is the reason iam thinking of a stator upgrade

      Then you have no choice rather than taking it to a good electrician. Get it done from a reputed shop. The wiring changes I guess including RR unit. Just a suggestion, check if any other yamaha's coil would be a direct fit - like how most of us use an Avenger's coil on Pulsar

      I understand that completely. Did you try tipping any of them in a friendly manner? Sometimes that works!

      Getting angry at somebody is the same as getting angry with a bike that just won't go. You should stop and start thinking.
      A good mechanic will let you watch even without charging you for it. |
      It is funny to know that we've been imitated and copied so well
      and surprising when we notice our mistakes are copied as well.

        no buddy no direct fit high power stator for tge r15. yes a direct fit high capacity RR unit is available but that is of yamaha r125 and not available in india as far as stator goes the r125 stator wont fit in r15 magneto case nor any other indian yamaha bikes stator will fit or is more powerful to be considered as a replacement
        As far as the svc guys are concerned the showroom has strict policy here regarding customers tipping the mechanics.if found out the mechanic is in trouble. morever direct interaction between customers and mechanics is frowned at by the svc managers in addition several other aspects of the poor servicing standards has proved as a big turn off to a happy experience during servicing

          That is sad mate.

          I guess all you could do is now is rule out all the other options and go for the rewinding.
          Make sure you get it done from a professional auto electrician. Do not worry about shelling out few extra bucks if the work is neat and professional.

            has anyone tried this with an avenger220 2010 model

            ----consecutive posts auto-merged-----

            is it possible to change the magneto coil of a bike and make required alterations if there is no possibility of coil rewinding and rr unit change?????

              Bikes don't leak oil,
              They mark their Territory.

              Bajaj Boxer -> 2003 - till date
              Bajaj Avenger -> 2011 - till date
              More to be added :-)

                Q1 : Can anyone tell me a place/shop in Pune City where I can get my bike done with full DC
                Q2 : Normal headlight bulb can work on DC,right?
                Q3 : So can I use 90/100W bulb to my bike after making it full DC? (standard is 35/35W)

                  A1: Get into a place who are specialized in mods or a good mechanic. Get help from pune xbhpians.
                  A2:Yes 100%.
                  A3.No 90/100W is not for bikes. It won't work because power consumption of bulb will be above capacity of battery, reflector will melt down its not designed to handle such heat.
                  Instead go for 55/60w bulbs. There are good bulbs from philips and osram. Many good bikers prefer this.

                      Hey guys. I am helping a friend, who owns a Hero Passion Pro, with AC to DC conversion. We opened the left cover to reveal the stator coil. I am attaching the pics of the stator coil and the Pulsar 180 UG4 RR unit which was suggested for a Passion on the Electrical modification on Hero Honda Passion thread. I have marked the ground cable(which I think it is) in the image. I am not sure of it though. According to the images in the OP, I know that I have to ground the green wire from the pulse generator. There are two wires (green and white) coming from the coils. Can anyone tell me which coil is which(ignition, charging?)? Now, in the passion thread, the OP has said that "1) In alternator / coil unground the grounded wire , remove the center tap yellow wire & connect that yellow wire to the ungrounded terminal." I am really confused by this line. Can anyone help me with this?

                        i am not able to make out which wire is from the image above. You have to just unground the two wires which are soldered to the stator coil touching the stator coil body and those two wires would be connected to each other without any contact to the body of the stator.

                        Passion has dc ignition so the whole 8 poles coil in the image is only for lighting the headlight and for battery charging. The coil must be divided like 5 pole for lighting and the other 3 for battery charging you have to just connect all 8 poles by ungrounding the wire and joining the those two wires without touching any stator coil, you can use fireproof cloth these you will get at from the electrical shops. This way all 8 pole will be available for battery charging.

                          There are two wires, white and green, soldered to the stator coil. There are two wires, green and a blue with yellow stripes, which comes from the pulse generator. Now, the green wire from the stator coil and the green from the pulse generator are coupled at the stator coil connector shown in the first pic.
                          So, none of the wires coming from the stator coil are touching the body/ground. If possible, can you mark the wires which need to be ungrounded in the above image and attach it. Thanks.

                            the circled area is where it is grounded remove the both of them from there and connect each other without touching any another thing. then connect the rr to the white and green wire

                              So correct me if I am wrong, you want me to de-solder both the white and green wire which are soldered to the stator coil and join them?
                              And as per the OP's wiring diagram, I have to ground the green wire coming from the pulse generator, correct?

                              Also, what about the wire shown in the attached pic? It was hooked to a nut and the other end goes to the stator coil connector. So the stator coil connector has three wires coming in - one white from the stator coil, two green wires(one from stator coil and one from the pulse generator coupled at the coil connector) and this grey with brown stripes wire. That is ground, correct? Do I need to float that too?

                                you dont have to touch the white wire and pulse wires.
                                you should unground the copper wire and green wire from the stator coil and then join both the copper and green wire together without touching the stator coil, pulse coil has different wires it is not connected with the stator coil.
