Once upon a time, a guy asked a girl 'Will you marry me?'
The girl said, 'NO!'
And the guy lived happily ever after and rode motorcycles and watched sport on a big screen TV, went fishing and surfing, and played golf a lot, and drank beer and scotch and had tons of money in the bank and left the toilet seat up and farted whenever he wanted.

if the helmet is shipped to USA it will have the DOT certification.in India we have ISI.Originally posted by siddharthsure View PostI mean this..... Sorry.. Wats that DOT thing u mentioned??? Plz give me a pic
many countries have defined their own sets of standards that are used to judge the effectiveness of a motorcycle helmet in an accident, and define the minimal acceptable standard.
Among them are:
DOT (USA),
ISI (India),
ECE(Europe),
Snell M 2005,
etc.
embossed inside the lacquer means printed/painted on helmet under lacquer(clear coat). it must not be a sticker.Life Motto: live, love, laugh... but when all goes wrong:ready, aim, FIRE!!...

You see the DOT, Snell sticker at the back, which means it is approved the crash test standards, which simply means your chances of surviving a crash on DOT and SNELL approved helmet is much more significant than a normal helmet without these ratings.
DoT means Department of Transportation of America enforced the law for safety standards, and their own standard tests which include basic tolerance for a helmet
SNELL to is the same, which does the same independently!
Cheers!

Its simple,where the Dot sticker is there(mostly rear side of the helmet extreme bottom) just try to peel out the DOT sticker with your nails,If its a fake DOT helmet you can remove the sticker with your nails,if its genuine you can`t peel out the sticker as there`s a lacqeur coat over the stickerOriginally posted by siddharthsure View PostBro wats tat DOT embossed inside lacquer..... SOL 68s II Flat Black
My new helmet SOL 68s II Flat Black
-> Love the shape & style of the helmet over my previous LS2 Crown.
-> Very less/minimal whistling sound as compared to the LS2.
-> Genuine DOT certification.
-> My new found love for a "Matte Black" helmet
-> Finish is excellent.
-> Pretty sung fit and very comfortable for spectacles too.
-> Double D-Ring lock mechanism.

Biking Terminal Somajigudda has duplicate visors for this Lid. Bought one clear visor from him months back and had terrible experience as the glass refracts and it attracted hell lot of scratches. I want original visor. Checked with EastWins and they don't procure the older ones either.Originally posted by theironhorse99 View Postdheeraj i believe thats the Glass for FF358.. biking terminal somajiguda should be having the visor for it. around 500-600 bucks.

I have an odd question. If it is OT, apologies, moderator and do strike it off.
I have a 14 year old son and 8 year old daughter for whom I am trying to get good lids for some time but unsuccessfully.
Could anybody suggest some brands which have a children's range too? I would not mind spending good money for my kids...
Thanks.

There are many a foreign brand available as well, but those will be expensive and difficult to source in India. If you are going out of the country with your children, then you can try buying it there. But make doubly sure of fit.Biking is not about what you have between your legs, its all about how well you use it!!!!!!!
Give your details here if you want to help your fellow xBhpian stranded in your city

The problem is not the helmets, but the sizes. There are a few half helmets in India from Studds more or less like HD helmets, which will be good for your little daughter and a size S or XS for your son. The best way to judge the helmet is, I'd suggest you go for a reputed helmet shop in your local, along with your kids, make them wear the helmets and check for snugness and comfort from their side, because you don't want to make them uncomfortable for something what we would like.Originally posted by icemang View PostI have an odd question. Let them wear, and it's upto to oversee the fit, snugness etc.
P.S. This is definitely not an OT, appreciate the effort of making helmet wearing a habit right from early age. Kudos!
Cheers!
