I wasn't on xBhp then and though I came across the names, I didn't really do a lot of research on LS2, Cross, SOL and such brands. All I knew was that I wanted better than Studds, Vega etc that you get in every other shop. So while I looked briefly at other brands (on foreign sites, or even Spartan and other local manufacturers), mainly I went through Bachoo Motors and PRS sites. PRS's showcased helmets, including KBC were too........ (as I said 100 kms since yesterday) and saddle sore capabilities (ouch! ), so I guess it is all about experience and adjusting and learning by clocking more and more kms.
As I've stated numerous times, what works for one, doesn't work for the other. And glad that your helmet is getting ahead.

Before i was like most indians, i used to just wear helmet to save myself from the cops but luckily even for that i bought myself a LS2 with that pumping option as that gave me a snug fit but now my attitude towards helmet has totally changed as its because of my LS2 that i am still alive after my last accident 3 days back, i just cannot believe a good helmet can make so much of a difference i got knocked down by a truck n fell straight on my skull and when i was down i was hit on my head by the car behind me but my helmet took it all and i felt almost nothing. So now i wanna buy a new helmet again as my LS2 is completely damaged, i wud love to go for the same helmet again but that helmet was too heavy and because
of that i used to get a lot of neck pain on long rides, so i want a helmet now that offers protection n fit like LS2 but is also light in weight. My budget is 7K cant acced more than that as i am a student. PLzzzzz reply guys which helmet i can get for 7K n where in mumbai, SOL is not a option as both the authorised SOL dealers in mumbai dont keep helmets below size L and i dont wanna buy helmet online as i wanna try helmet before buying to see its fit as snug fit is very important and all helmets fit in a diiferent way,so buying online is not a option for me. PLzzzzz reply which helmet i should go for and where i can get it in mumbai.

sanjana k.. Good lord that you are safe after such an accident.. Also from now on, try to be even more on the safer side and get other riding gear.. And don't ride into trucks
about the availability in bombay.. The members from that region can give a more clear idea..

Ride safe and have fun.

If you want really light weight helmets try AIROH from Bachoo Motors or HJC from Performance Racing Store both in Mumbai.

Bachoo Motors
www.performanceracing.in

The AIROH ranges are pretty lightweight and KBC and HJC from PRS too are pretty light weight helmets. Pls check their website for more info.

Cheers!

As VJ has suggested do try out the Airoh's. both HJC and KBC sold in that price range have quite large shells, which may not suit you.

As a matter of curiosity, what size was your LS2?

Ok, all learned biker brothers, my query: Helmet for girls (not kid) - size & protection, Budget - not beyond 7K. Give me some names/brand & availability.

It is for my sister who is getting a Honda Dio today & is against full-face helmets (says it looks bikerish , you know girls) I scolded her and explained the importance of good helmet, educated her on the benefits. After all the gana-bajana, I still feel that she's going to buy a small half-face girly helmet - after all look matters and it is difficult to convince after some point. So I am planning to buy one and give it to her the next time 'am home. I just want her to be safe , considering the fact that she is still in the early part of the learning phase of How to Ride!!

Thanks in advance!

I appreciate the care you exhibit towards your sister. Honestly, I think the full face helmet will not work for now brother. Let her enjoy the ride. You know fancy helmets are not safe but would you still compel when you see the disappointment and tears ready to flow down? You will give up and lose . Whew!! The biggest weapon on earth...

Instead, send her text messages everyday or once in 2/3 days on road safety tips. Make it a habit of texting her on basic road rules and what to do in case of road emergencies and all that stuffs. Educate her on RC book, insurance, road tax, etc., related to her bike.

Once she masters all these tips with your involvement, I am sure she will either get a full face helmet herself or ride safe without the need for one.
Good luck !
