  • all i can say with my little knowledge is.. that the fit needs to be on the tighter side.. not so tight to give you a headache .. coz once the padding takes the shape of the face.. its gonna become looser. Its important for the helmet to be a bit tighter to protect the head and stick onto it incase of an accident. So 2 cms difference is a lot in that way..

the best way would be to try out a helmet.. get its specs.. the exact model and size etc.. and get it from elsewhere.

even i am new to the biking world.. so am not the best person to answer your question :|

Yeah, this is going to be my 5th helmet in a biking span of 8 years. Earlier I only used to get helmets based on the fit. I used to follow all the points in the Helmet Advice like wear the helmet, shake your head, see if it is moving seamlessly, or is too free. In which case, it would tend to become loose after a while. At that time, I only used to concentrate on fit (and there was no confusion), but ever since I started thinking about sizes, it started puzzling me, thats why I thought I'll ask some of you guys whether we should buy a helmet based on fit, or based on head size measurement!

And fitting is not the ONLY parameter. In general, any decent branded stuff works better than a Nana Peth ki paidaish.

Regarding this RST helmet, looks good like Daijya. Never heard of it except on xBhp. I will try to find some info.
hehehe! khana-peena, i guess you dint saw me that night, khaate-peete
          TRUE!
Well RST is an int. brand (hope so, dnt have much idea bout it)

@Chilled, DK: thx for the info...

3.2k, not much for that helmet, I like it better than Cross one, Daijya is out of reach for now, n cant even think of a SparX, whicn I love! specially this one...

            I found this link today

Seems like this design is a rip-off of the AFX FX series (sold in the US)

Helmet 1: Volga Guardian: Used roughly for 3 years with old Kinetic, donated while selling it.
Helmet 2: Studds Ninja Decor 2: Bought when I bought my Fiero F2. Used softly for 3 years, donated to friend who is still using it.
Helmet 3: Studds Marshall Open face: Used softly since 1.5 years, still as good as new, using for very short distances with Fiero F2.
Helmet 4: Vega Boolean: Bought 8 months back when I bought the R15, but unhappy with the padding&fit&finish especially on highways, so going to donate it&go for the 2.5K Vega.
So, I will still have only one half-face&one full face at a time-2 helmets for 2 bikes!

The AFX FX-90 helmet in the above link looks very similar to the Vega high end helmet.

                • Finally bought an Index, really good quality for its price, especially the padding and ventilation. It is very stable at high speeds and does attract some glances too .
I ordered for a Ninja 3G (but was not happy with its delicate lift-up mechanism), so i decided to buy Vega ECE imported helmet (it was too tight and uncomfortable for my large head) and i got 3rd time lucky with this Index.
Many Thanks to Ketan, Sarvajit, Caravikiran, Chetan, Kaustubh and Swapnil for their inputs and help.

                  Posting some pics:

Just got myself this lid from Vega, spent half a day rummaging thru shops on Mount road, and GP road (chennai). Finally picked this one out for 2600 INR. let me know of your views. Fit and finish is very nice. There are 8 vents in total. 5 in the front and 3 on the rear. the lining is removable/washable. Only strange thing about this is that there is no ISI labelling, but its ECE certified.
                        Congrats!!!
                        Looks Cool
First one to get a White/Light Grey combo here i think.
Is that a silver tinted visor?
If yes how is the visibility during night, especially in unlit places like highways.

Inder Paaji, Padding is hard as of now..but will get softer after use, its non-removable but dealer has given me a 1 yr replaceable padding warranty .
