  • Re: Helmets

Finally, I fixed Ejeas V6 pro, bluetooth on my SMK twister helmet.

Helmet pads are easily removable and there are povisions for wire, speaker and microphone.

Helmet has rubber bidding which makes it difficult to install clamp, however after cutting required rubber bidding, it fixed well. Looking at profile of helmet shell, I am sure fixing with double sided tape will be very difficult. I have not tested riding as today I am commuting in car. May be will test tomorrow for volume and noise reduction.

Bought it from aliexpress and cost 2100. Received in about 3 weeks using aliexpress standard shipping (Which used singapore post services.)

Sound quality was adequate, clear and crisp when tested in house.

Yes, for the price is 2k, that's all one can expect I guess. Primarily for city riding. Not for Touring.

I have a different take. Daily comute or touring, safety is utmost important. Accidents doesnt happen with prior information.
I still suggest people to invest in SMK, Shifter if they are on budget, somehow Vega and Axor doesnt give me confidence from safety pov.

I will totally support this thought. Accidents don't happen without prior notice and staying safe is your choice not a mandate.

Also, I believe in wearing safety gears works like adding a fashion dimension to me.

Never ride at night with a tinted visor. The reduction in light transmission is too much. Most visors have around 40% tint, which means they block 40% of the available light. Since light at night is minimal, any decrease is going to create areas of total darkness, especially if the area you ride has streetlights and traffic; compared to the dim lighting of those sources, any unlit area will appear completely black. That means any person/animal/obstacle that is in those unlit areas will be functionally invisible.

Using a tinted shield in the day is fine, but you need to swap it for the clear shield when it starts getting dark. Most helmets have fairly simple methods for removing the shield, the process takes a couple of minutes at most, which is a small price to pay compared to the consequences of running over someone at night, or worse smacking into the back of an unlit truck parked at the side of the road at 70km/h.

Put the phone away, put your helmet on, and ride!

Scooters are like fat girls: fun to ride, but embarrassing if your friends see you with one.

tinted visors cause a lot of trouble specially during night time ,when there is lack of adequate light.
Most of the time I have to pull up the visor to see the road properly.
