1- All new viscoelastic protectors are comfortable, you can pick out of Powertector, Safetech, SasTec, Forcefield and D3O. As far as I know, availability of Forcefield is scarce. D3O should be available with Bikeratti and at Amazon India. Powertector is available with Solace and Rynox, contact them or check website. Safetech should be available with MotoTech and Rynox. Sastec should be available with Solace and Raida.

I'd personally pick D3O for comfort since it's a city jacket.

2. Get a helmet with single shell size and varying liner size, with good availability of liners. (very important). This way you can switch the liners when she feels they are tight. SMK half face helmets are a good start.

Thank you so much for the SMK suggestion. I bought my Daughter a SMK Half Face with a 'S' sized liner. The shell will also support a 'M' and 'L' sized liner, so it can be upgraded. This was such a valuable piece of advice.

Please suggest a riding pant for me, preferences are written below:

1. Price- as low as possible without compromising safety
2. Usage- City use only, May go on 250KM ride once in 6 months.
3. Safety is priority
4. should have excellent ventilation. All weather pants aren't required as i wont be touring/riding in rain/extreme winter.

Are knee guards good alternative for riding pants? pardon my ignorance as i have never owned a riding pant before.

Hi, I'm using rynox tornado pro and advento pants for 3 years they are old and once I sent them for stitching to rynox also I bought a Xpulse so looking to buy a new jacket and pant. I trust Rynox and one of friend bought solace pant and furious jacket and he vouch for it so I trust Solace. Aspida is as also good.

My requirements are very good ventilation since I will be riding slow and taking break in off roads most of the time. Level 2 comfortable protection all over.

Pls recommend the gears.

Anything from Rynox or Solace is reliable for you, judging also by your past experience.

For L2 all over in Rynox - You have Air GT3, UrbanX, Tornado3, Storm evo. All are mesh form factor and level 2 all over.

From Solace you have Sabre, mesh and L2 all over.

Pants - Level 2 - Solace Coolpro mesh pants.

This completes all L2 set, hope this helps you.

Both have a lot of similarities as well as differences.

Differences -
* Storm has metal sliders on shoulders.
* Sabre uses 1000D cordura on shoulders and elbows.
* Sabre has hydration bladder pocket on the back.
* Sabre has snug sporty fit, Storm is relaxed fit.
* Sabre has external rain liner, Storm has internal (as of now, might have been updated)
* Sabre has protectors from Powertector on the back, shoulders and elbows. Storm has protectors from Knox on shoulders and elbows, Powertector on back (updated now)
* Sabre has open sporty type of collar, Storm has a closed one.

Similarities -
* Both jackets use Cordura on impact zones (different deniers)
* Both have a similar back protector.
* Both have reliable and known branded protectors all around.
* Both have EVA foam pad as chest protectors. (upgrade costs ₹950 for Storm - Rynox Cerros chest protector and ~₹1900 for Sabre - Sas-tec chest protector insert, both being CE Level 1)

Both jackets have ample reflective panels.
Hope this helps your buying decision, pick the one you like design wise, both are good and reliable. A little price difference is present but that gap is filled once you look at chest protector upgrade in future.

Rynox or Solace are your better options here. I found FK-R a little pricey, and it's okay, it's a limited edition.

Both the above brands get Cordura at shoulders, elbows, get known and trusted protectors on all other regions too.

Rynox does get a chest pocket afaik, Solace ships with foam in same pocket, both are upgradable to CE level 1. (Rynox Cerros and Sas-tec respectively)

There are many small and subtle differences apart from this.

With regards to Mototorque, the genuineness of the prospectors is a big question mark. For instance, Mototorque does not manufacture the Level 2 protector, they buy it from a 3rd party. Now there is no information about the Level 2 certification of the protector from the 3rd party. Try asking them if they can provide it. You will be surprised to know some will send you certificates of 2003 etc and some may simply not. Also since this 3rd partyis not a brand like Knox, Sastec, Safetech, you have no option but to only believe Mototorque for its authenticity. Currently 2012/2014 certifications are prevailing.

I think is a safe bet to go for the Air GT 3 or any other gear with authentic branded protectors. Eventually you are paying for the safety, so one better be sure what he wears.

One of my cousin was leaving for US and left his jacket from Mototech (Air scrambler) with me for my use. I understand it does not come with level 2 protectors therefore I emailed Mototech to find out if I can upgrade these protectors. Mototech promptly responded that I can upgrade both shoulder and elbow with level 2 from safetech and shared the link to purchase. For the back protector, they said if there is a left pocket inside the jacket then the back foam can be replaced with the level 2 protector. Luckily, my jacket has one. So I'm planning to order these protectors. If anyone knows a store in Bangalore that sells Safetech protectors, I can physically check to make sure the protectors are compatible before buying them.

I bought SMK Twister for 4,100 at shop next to Motonation Lal Bagh road, Bangalore. I also checked out Rynox Ait GT3 jacket at Adeshwars Ryder's arena Lal Bagh road Bangalore and was told by the sales guy that it comes with CE level 2 armor only for the shoulder and elbow but not for the back. According to the Rynox website, it does comes with level-2 protector from Safe-tech. According to that sales guy only Moto Torque resistor comes with CE level 2 protectors for all shoulder, elbow and back in the same price range (~6000).

Guys, if I increase my budget from 6000 to 8000 then which one of these jackets is better. All 3 comes with CE level 2 protector at shoulder, elbow and back although from different brands. I think Solace comes with some foam chest protector

Hey guys i picked up a rynox evo storm jacket yesterday. The store had just XL and XXL and hence i settled for XL. When i came home and tried the jacket without the thermal ljner and rain liner, the jacket was a loose fit for me. I then tried the L size from a different store and it fit me perfect. Now what shall i do ? Can i ask for an exchange from rynox ? Though the size is not available at the same store i guess rynox should be able to help me out in this ?

Also can someone tell me the difference between rynox storm evo and rynox airgt3 ?apart from the external shoulder protector and a foam chest protector what else is the difference? Does the price difference of 3k justify it ?

Yes, mail them for a size exchange, maybe they help you.

The difference is in size of protectors. Storm evo has standard size, much larger protectors. Also the material on shoulders and elbows is cordura. Goodluck.

Hi Guys, I’m looking to buy a jacket for long rides. I’ve shortlisted the Rynox Stealth Evo V3 L2 Jacket. Need your advice if I should go for this or else please suggest something better. This is going to be my first jacket.
