Hi,
Is anyone using chest protectors for offroad purpose?

Re: Universal : Riding Gear Thread
I would recommend Level 2 ones but it'll depend if your jacket has the space for it. I don't think you can buy Knox separately, but SASTEC you can.Originally posted by shamanthnv View PostAny advice on good Riding Jacket protectors, Shoulder/elbow, which is not too costly ? Thinking of this one.

Re: Universal : Riding Gear Thread
I would suggest you to go for the Rynox Storm Jacket.Originally posted by hgps View PostMostly city. Strictly No long rides or tours.
The shoulder/ Elbow protectors are Level 2 from Knox (UK). The advantage of Knox protectors over sastec is that 1) It passes the CE tests of T+ and T- and in India T+ CE test should certainly be considered while you look for Level 2 protectors 2) Knox provides a 5 years warranty on protectors. The Knox protectors used in Storm Jacket are also the latest technology- Knox Microlock.
Sastec and Powertector Level 2 protectors both don't pass these test.
The Back protector is Powertector.
Chest are EVA pads and upgradable to CE certified ones.
It has external titanium sliders. (Added protections against slide)
At Impact zones the Rynox Storm jacket has Invista (Du Pont) Cordura which is far more superior in terms of abrasion resistance than any denier of Polyester.

Solace in Banashankari does repairs. Else Gear-n-Ride in HSR layout and Koramangala also do it though they may outsource it.Originally posted by shamanthnv View PostDo we know any place is Bangalore, where i can get riding jacket repaired? the air-vent zipper glue has come-off in my Honda Jacket.

Re: Universal : Riding Gear Thread
Hey guys,
I'm looking for a pair of riding good quality riding jeans. I have seen 2 options from Bikeratti and one from Zeus.
Does anybody have any experience with either of these? How are they in terms of protection, comfort, and styling?
Also does anybody know the difference between the Blue version (8400) and the black version (9400) of the Bikeratti jeans? I have seen conflicting information on various websites and would like some insight into this.Last edited by Syntax23; 05-28-2019, 02:42 PM.

Re: Universal : Riding Gear Thread
Thanks for the valuable information buddy, I m sure it will be useful for many of usOriginally posted by sanjeet286 View PostPowertector is from South Korea while SASTEC is from Germany. I'm not too familiar with their history. Product wise, sastec is slightly more elastic than powertector, and hence adjusts to the body shape a bit better (visco elastic is the term they use). I have seen the powertector armours maybe about 9months back and they were very like Knox ones in terms of touch and feel (design slightly different). I have sastec in my riding gear and feel the elasticity/adjustment to body shape really helps while riding. While Knox/Powertector would be bit more 'rigid', though providing the equal level of protection.

Re: Universal : Riding Gear Thread
Mostly city. Strictly No long rides or tours.Originally posted by Syntax23 View Post1. I would recommend the Solace Sabre Mesh Jacket. 600D chassis with mesh panels and 1000D Cordura on shoulders and elbows. Full set of powertector Level 2 armour (elbows, shoulders, and back), and a set of EVA foam chest protectors (upgradable to Sas-Tec level 1). It'll run you 8250, and another 1800 if you choose to opt for the upgraded chest armor.
2. For the most protection, I'd recommend you to slightly extend your budget and go for the Solace Hit-Pro (3200). If you want more airflow and comfort, the Rynox Shield Pro gloves (2650) are also a good choice, although they are a bit difficult to find. BBG also makes a semi gauntlet glove (3k).
3. Ryo T-Rex is an excellent choice, although it is a bit pricey as it runs you almost 12k. For more of a budget boot, I would suggest the BBG racing boots at 8.5k.
Also, will your usage be mostly city or highway?

I need:
1. Riding jacket : Safety is priority, best armors all around (back, shoulder, elbow and chest), good fabric for abrasion resistance. Budget is around 8000. Strictly below 9000.
2. Riding Gloves: Safety, comfort (grip) is priority. Budget around 2.5-3k
3. Boots: Ankle twist protection and should protect incase bike falls off on my leg. Excellent road grip to handle heavy weight of bikes. Budget: ideally around 9000. but can increase to 12-13k
Will buy pants later. But right now i have a total budget of 20-22k for all 3. (helmet budget is taking huge chunk off my 40k budget). I cannot increase my budget, If i cannot find a good option in my budget, either i will have to compromise to cheaper alternative or postpone my purchase till next year.
