Re: Universal : Riding Gear Thread
I had the solace bravo v2 full gauntlets and I rode it on my ride from Mumbai to Calcutta on 11th may 2019. Not only it is tedious to get it on and remove it it's also very hard on the fingers. I completed 2100kms in 53hrs with the gauntlets worn only during the day so about 20-25hrs in total and the only body part that's still paining are my fingers. They offer good protection no doubt but I don't think they're worth the hassle and pain. Stick to short cuff gloves.Originally posted by Syntax23 View Post

Re: Universal : Riding Gear Thread
I've personally stuck to short cuff gloves until now, so I don't have any experience with daily usage of gauntlets. Although, I do have a pair coming in a few weeks.Originally posted by Zapps View PostThanks for your info, could you also share how practical are gauntlets for everyday use. Some folks say, they're not ideal for daily use as in stoo-go traffic, they will be degraded due to sweating.
If your usage is mostly for city, with a little bit of highway, then you would be better off with short cuff gloves instead of gauntlets, as I have also heard they can be cumbersome to use for day to day applications.
Just a side note, I doubt any of the gloves mentioned above would fare well in the rain, as they all are either leather gloves or at least have a decent amount of leather, which can deteriorate from constant exposure to the rain.

You could consider the following:
Solace HitPro gloves - 3199
Solace Bravo Full Gauntlet - 3199Last edited by Zapps; 05-15-2019, 12:03 PM.

Re: Universal : Riding Gear Thread
I've heard very good things about the Rynox Shield Pro gloves. If you can find them, they are very good value for money.Originally posted by Zapps View PostGuys any suggestions for gloves, I have a budget around 3k and need something with wrist/palm protection. And not having to worry about rain degradation.
I'm currently looking at Rynox Shield Pro SPS and Aspida Ares. And it'd be helpful if you could share your experiences with these gloves.

The HitPro gloves offer more protection for the knuckles and palm than the Bravo, but miss out on the gauntlet, which the Bravo has.

Re: Universal : Riding Gear Thread
Certainly worth a skip. The protectors are small and do not provide good coverage. Also Spartan has recently stripped down ll their protector offering. Ealier they used Knox or Sastec, now they claim to use their own protectors, while keeping the price same if not increasing for some products.Originally posted by Jass twenty7 View Posthow about aspida Proteus 2...it has got level 2 protection where as rynox advento is of level 1..
Certainly not worth after this change.

Go for the Advento. It has been tried and tested by some of my friends on multiple leh rides. Stealth Pant is a fairly new offering, you can opt for it if you have or plan to buy a Stealth jacket to complete the suit.Originally posted by Mandar64 View PostConfused between Rynox Advento and Rynox Stealth Evo Pannts??price difference is just 400 between them, can anyone suggest which one to go for??

Re: Universal : Riding Gear Thread
No idea if they have a customer service and frankly not interested in the brand anymore. I have very little patience for complaint, escalation resolution etc. Brand is off my radar for good.Originally posted by sanjeet286 View PostTBG is known for wide ranges in their quality. Re: Universal : Riding Gear Thread
Hi All, I'm a resident of Mumbai and looking for some beginner riding gear which would last me through the blazing summers, as well as the monsoons. (Weekend long rides, and highway rips)
1. Gloves - 5-6k budget
-need not be waterproof
-should not spoil after long hours soaked
-don't have preference on gauntlet type (please suggest)
2. Jacket -Budget around 7-8k
- I'm bulky around 95kg @6'1"
-Would want jacket to have waterproof lining (removable) so I can switch to that during monsoons.
-Adequate protection while riding till 120kmph
I can travel to any stores in Mumbai you guys suggest to purchase the above, or online.

Re: Universal : Riding Gear Thread
Have checked it, didn't find it very impressive, the protectors are small and don't cover the shin.Originally posted by Jass twenty7 View Posthow about aspida Proteus 2...it has got level 2 protection where as rynox advento is of level 1..
Instead, if you want a good alternative, check Solace pants, level 2 protectors and that too branded good quality ones.

Re: Universal : Riding Gear Thread
If you are really down with Rynox pants, then try out each and see which one fits well. Else, check out Solace pants too. Very good and have same if not more protection than Rynox. Plus, very reasonably priced.Originally posted by Mandar64 View PostConfused between Rynox Advento and Rynox Stealth Evo Pannts??price difference is just 400 between them, can anyone suggest which one to go for??

Re: Universal : Riding Gear Thread
Helium is a light weight jacket, but you get Level 1 protector and it skips the Thermal liner. You can wear a thermal layer (Thermacot) during winter and wear the jacket over it.Originally posted by rookster View PostRynox Helium vs Air GT. Air GT on the other hand has both the liners and comes with Level 2 protectors.

Features are more or less the same.Originally posted by Mandar64 View PostConfused between Rynox Advento and Rynox Stealth Evo Pannts??price difference is just 400 between them, can anyone suggest which one to go for??
If you have or plan yo buy the Stealth jacket, you can go for the Stealth pant. The entire suit looks really good.
But if you are using any other jacket (especially in black color) the Advento will look better.
Protection wise both are at par with each other I believe (except that the Stealth has Hi-Viz mesh panel which increases your daytime Visibility.

Any other short cuff gloves in the same range? TBG? Aspida?
