Firstly there is tons of gear brands out there, so all of them, do one thing in common and that is to confuse us, consumers
Now regarding Octane or Jetstream, considering Jetstream is just a few hundred bucks more than the Octane, I'd say go for the Octane. Being owning myself for a pretty good time, it's held up remarkably well. And ventilation, oh man, crazy ventilation, I guess far better than the Jetstream. As I previously noted in another comment for a fellow xBhp member, if you observe closely, Octane is a 80% mesh jacket, compared to Jetsream and it is basically to offer adequate protection and good ventilation and the jacket does it spot on.
Now, Jetstream on the other hand too is a mesh one, but has the textile component to it significantly, so I guess it won't be that much comfortable as Octane, though both have the same removable liner.
Now the CE component, give or take most brands out there, offer back CE protectors only as an aftermarket accessory, unlike some very less foreign brands which offer them as standard, but then 90% of the time, it's an accessory (CE approved back armor that is). The Octane and Jetstream don't come with CE approved back protectors, just a plain foam pad, like most brands and the company website have entered it wrongly as a CE approved. Only elbow and shoulder are CE certified, not the back protectors.
So to sum it up, I'd suggest go for the Octane, good jacket, can save you from most downpours and gets you home safe and sound

Hope this helps!
Cheers!

i dont know if its normal with the Octane. Guys using it may put some light? Is the 'Made in China' tag now responsible for it?? Other than these small niggles, the jacket feels absolutely comfortable to wear on an all day ride even in this hot weather.
