Hope to make it back in one piece.
Good Luck. Time your run such that you do the Chitradurga-HAveri stretch during day time both while coming and going.

Thanks Hyperion, Is this stretch famous for bad patches? Please advice as I have only ridden till Belgaum and had taken a diversion towards Jog falls from NH4.

I hope you have read other Saddlesore attempt blogs and surely know what to do and how. There are many things to be considered like proper documentation, photos, witness signs, fuel and rest stops, turning back point, night/day riding distance, etc. But most important preparation is the 'mental preparation'!!

Wishing you all the best for a successful attempt and waiting back here to read the travelogue!!

The road surface is not all that bad. But the road is under construction, so there are diversions in between and no markers on the road. There are also invisible speed breakers that will wreck your wheel rims.

Thanks Kshitij, I have read other saddlesore attempt blogs, however I noticed that all attempts were made on 150cc+ and thought its worth a try . I have contacted a few friends in Bangalore and a couple of others from Pune to be at the place when I start. Bike papers (originals and Photo) along with cam will also be with me

                    WOW

Thanks for the early warning, will certainly need daylight for this stretch. Do u think a start time of 4AM would be sufficient enough or is it better if I leave Pune at Midnight?

Haveri is 500 odd from here. Start around Midnight. That way you will cover the good part in the dark.

Just thought of asking..do you have any info of Pertol bunks that accept Credit card payments on NH4? Even if they provide a computerised bill with info on Location and time would do.

                          Thanks in advance

Download the Nokia Sports Tracker app. Install and start a new track when you start the ride and it will start recording your position once it has uplink to the GPS satellite.
