If it's G2G, I won't be turning up as I would be hitting the highways that day for sure, so I won't be left with the time nor energy to gather again for the G2G for sure... Sorry guys, please do all the necessary plans by tomorrow max...

Today looks promising enough to ride tomorrow
Friends, it seems that the sunny cool morning of today signals a temporary pause in the incessant showers we had been subjected to for days.I sincerely hope this streak of opportunity extends itself till Tuesday.
So being on the optimistic side, let us all plan a ride to Bakkhali Sea-coast via Diamond Harbour for tomorrow 15th August 2011.
The main avenue that we would use for this journey is NH117.
We have to bypass Behala for that matter and begin our journey directly from Joka.
The approximate distance of our journey to would be 130 kms, so we would be traversing a total of 260 kms tomorrow, to and fro.
The route map :

So, let us plan to begin early enough to move over the Independence day proceedings that would start in our city after 7o'clock in order to get a clear way out of city and on to the Highway.
The NH117 we would use is actually a single lane highway and is without a divider for most of it just like NH34.So decent speeds and focused riding is our way to go.
Hence, I am putting up some meeting time for the ride to begin tentatively :
Let us all gather on the opposite side of the Tollygunge Metro station by 6o' clock in the morning. We would then move out by 6:30 to the max.
We would flow straight through Paschim Putiary into Joka and continue or journey towards the sea-coast.We would stop for half an hour at Diamond Harbor riverside which would fall on our way and head straight towards Namkhana. From Namkhana a divergence left would carry us towards Bakkhali FraserGanj jetty service. We would use this service to cross a river into Bakkhali mainland and journey straight ahead into the sea-shore.
This ride is a very exciting ride with some really beautiful locales to brush by.I am quoting this from my experience of journey with my two-wheeler to this place in previous years.
Hence, I request every enthusiastic Xbhpian to join in for tomorrow's ride.
Though I feel there are certain names who should join as I really want to meet them for the first time at this opportunity :
1.Kishoremuthu- let's ride brother.
2.Satyajit82- roll the thumper, its a nice ride.
3.ayantherider- please join in
4.haxor- though we discuss online, high time we ride together offline
Apart from them,
1.The real enthusiast who was pre-determined for the ride irrespective of the weather- Raneet, lets ride then
2.It would be relatively dry and sunny tomorrow too I feel ,hence Pranjal, please don't skip it
And there are always certain people who are always joining in if they are free along with me.
So let's ride tomorrow and please do contribute your opinions too for this tentative.Last edited by MACH50; 08-14-2011, 11:37 AM.Hell's Angel

hi guys
i am updating on the forum after a long time its not that i am not following the forum i read every post everyday..
i am not too happy with the biking scenario in kolkata
the no of accident has gone up a lot
few days back my best friend met a bike accident on digha contai road and we had to return from an unfinished trip from mandarmani.
then yesterday two school boys died while racing in ajc bose flyover..
after such incidences i am really loosing confidence and also becoming really sad
bikers are getting a bad name in the city they are termed as irresponsible holigans. i am not too happy with the image as i am a proud biker as all of us..
as xbhpian i believe in safe riding cant we do something to change the outlook of the people in our city may be a peace rally may be educating the youth about safe biking through pamplets etc.. y restrict our culture only within the forum lets spread it guys...
