disk pad of a zma/zmr costs 2400rs w/o tax. plate should another 1.5k and the entire set should be around 5kOriginally posted by Only Amit... View PostHi Steve, Many Thanks for the information
Both of my fairings(left and right) need to be changed along with the dome.My mudguard is scarched but not broken, So no change.
Here I am not sure about the Disk prices
, Sai motors quoted me 2500 for the set (Pad 1000rs, disk 1500rs). Speedo is working fine.
I am changing my fairings to yellow only..planning to change the whole bike to yellow step by step

Just a little fore warning that, your RC would state the color to be black while actuals in yellow. So be prepared to argue with cops, IF, they ever catch hold of you looking at the TN registration plate.Originally posted by Only Amit... If not, prepare to shell out to RTO to get the color of motorcycle changed in RC.Skill is what keeps you on a Motorcycle

WHAAAAAAAAAATTTT? Why rebore a perfectly new Bike, and BTW my guess was right.. wait a minute.... + runs to the bike and drains oils...+
Strange that you needed a rebore at 10K man.. You need any help with the buggers let me know, cycle gapla nanum yen vandi service kudukkanum :P
@ aargee : sad but true, he had been hinting us since Yercaud, Gonna miss the Chennai's Very own Uncle ( I just figured out another reason to call him
uncle, Ram overtook him with a A-150 and sadly Uncle couldnt catch up with him on the ZMA, Uncle attitude.. Just joking
)
Hoping to see your face pretty soon uncle.. better start doing blore-chn stints more often like those chennai-blore runs you used to do... cant wait to see a half yellow- half black ZMA, will look like Hrithik's ZMA ad, except your ZMA will be shedding all it's black spunk!
Sad to see HH over Pricing the spares ... I think it has become a trend with all manufacturers except the Indigeous ones.
Suzuki - Overprices on account of unavailability (handle bar was replaced on my bike even though it could have been fixed, but still, 800 Bucks!)
Honda - ten glorious years of over pricing! ( had to replace the Activa's ES switch, spent 500 Bucks!)
Yamaha - The bike by default indicates the maintainance costs...
Royal Enfield (even though its "Indian" it's a brit design) - They do overprice the components and the service... well the guys have to talk about it

@ragav
machi yamaha isnt that costly da. not as much as honda atleast. HH side panel alone costs 2.5k the entire body panels of my fz costs 1.8k lol my dad has a honda shine. so i know. its a urban myth that yamaha costs alot. for the quality they provide its a acceptable price.
the one man army !!Originally posted by Sunnyside_up! View PostChennai XBhp created a record of sorts today with a g2g with just one rider showing up!!
Woke at 4.45am and started getting ready only to find out from Sri (efunds) that the ride was cancelled. To his credit, the guy offered to keep me company out of a sense or responsibility but I told him to go back to bed and crash. Senthil, our newest noob also called and I advised him to take his bike out for a ride to maybe Kanchipuram to rack up some mileage so that he would be able to push open the throttle sooner than later on his new Ninja.
Finding myself up and about with nothing else to do, got on my bike and went for a spin - a fast sprint down to Marakanam Beach about halfway to Pondy and back. Beautiful weather, clean rain-washed and empty roads, a scenic ride with just the sound of my engine at 8 - 10k rpm for company.......ahhhh! Bliss!!!
Got back home after 3 hours a happy and rejuvenated man!!
what is happening to our G2Gs?
why do you need a kicker? you dont need a kicker. lol as far as i know no one till date has got a kicker installed in their fz.Originally posted by vinoob View Postguys does any one from where i can install kicker from Chennai...for my fz16
you dont need to "shell out" to get your color changed. please dont scare him. and a bigger problem will arise if your bike gets lost and you have to fill FIR or insurance claim.Originally posted by aargee View PostJust a little fore warning that, your RC would state the color to be black while actuals in yellow. Bet you beer to dollar, getting a work done at RTO without something is a great achievement provided your known sources aren't working there.Originally posted by yellowspunk View Postyou dont need to "shell out" to get your color changed. please dont scare him.
+1000000...; anyway, he's getting it done partially for now.Originally posted by yellowspunk View Postand a bigger problem will arise if your bike gets lost and you have to fill FIR or insurance claim.
Are you saying that saving about 4-5 hours every Sunday morning all way from Sep to Nov will make you flying colors in the exam?Originally posted by yellowspunk View PostP.S. And guys i dont know if i can attend a G2G again till november cause i have these management exams to attend. have to "start" preparing lol
4 hours X 8 Sundays = 32 Hours
Remaining 48 days X 24 hours = 1152 Hours
Good to see that you'll achieve something in 32 hours that you will not be able to achieve in 1152 hours!!!
Good Luck mate; your logic is already working!!!

I'm missing this guy!!! I always ride behind Amit in group & was very comfortable with him. Now who's going to replace his position?Originally posted by felix.ragav View Post@ aargee : sad but true
Which 4S doesn't attract maintainence cost? For that matter Rx100 also doesOriginally posted by felix.ragav View PostYamaha - The bike by default indicates the maintainance costs...
Forget about overprice, they don't even know how to do a quality job. They don't know how to cover up the wires that are being exposed on their 1.4L motorcycleOriginally posted by felix.ragav View PostRoyal Enfield (even though its "Indian" it's a brit design) - They do overprice the components and the service... well the guys have to talk about it
Well, it should good good, provided its done well; remember Kirosh's ZMA? Looks good isn't it?Originally posted by Only Amit... View PostDon't know how my bike will look after the Yellow black cosmetic rebuild...Hope it wont look like a Yack!!!
As long as you've sufficient Vitamin M, there's no need to argue or manage.Originally posted by Only Amit... View PostI will keep something in black

Yes, we should do this Amit. Its a good place with nothing to doOriginally posted by Only Amit... View PostPlan a ride to elagiri sometime...I will join from here
food is expensive though.
You mean, are you changing the cylinder & piston kit?Originally posted by rajesh1136 View Postno rebore . its complete change of bore piston.
Do it before they carry out the job, that way you'll be able to control few of the unnecessary expense; let me know if you need any help.Originally posted by rajesh1136 View Postdidnt get full picture of what they planning to change. will ask all details when i go to take my delivery.

@ aargee: agreed, but how come the "Indian" bike manufacturers produce parts are lower costs. The Problem with the GSR is a QC. I think Suzuki has a terrible QC team, probably headed by probably a brick or a tree stump, heck a visually impaired guy (no offence, but au contraire, I've seen them do better jobs than perfectly fine people) would do a better job! You can try out Tarun (probably on his way somewhere now) .. He's a versatile rider as well! There are lots more in the gang, but you know how i ride, so you're better off with someone else rather than me :P
@raj: yes, thats what I heard from the other GSR owners as well, but I dont see a problem (except for QC) with the older versions, they could have done something to the pickup, but that would mean redesigning , which they might not be interested in.
@ Yellowspunk : I was mainly talking about a overpriced bike da, yeah, can you tell me , probably during the next service, how much otehr stuff costs. the FZ's side panel (rs 1800) Vs ZMA's side panel (rs 2500) is a comparo which really cant stimulate my grain-sized brain perhaps (??)
@ raja: sorry raja, no clue as to what bike he used in that movie, but in one of his earlier one's I remember seeing a RD with expansion chambers, the looked kinda deadly!
@ Zaphod : The Kid Looks like "Can I Haz a Cheese burger?" look.. LOL... you speak LOLcat?
