The ride started off well today. Alok and Rohit couldnt join us. So it was Tibby, Ark, Vkushal and prad.cs apart from myself.
We gathered at Esteem Mall (pradeep was a lil ahead) and a lil distance after crossing the airport we stopped to take pics of the sunrise.
Pics dont do justice but the sun had an awesome orange glow. Looked great but unfortunately my P&S camera could only do this much.
We heard a rumble in the distance coming towards us and it was a Lamborghini Gallardo. I was ogling at the car and only after it passed us i realized i had the cam in my hands. Took a pic (not very happy with it
).
We reached Nandi and a lil while later we were joined by 3 other SBK's.... 2 Gixxer 1000's and a CBR 600. The CBR had a Micron exhaust and sounded insane while the white GSX-R had the Hot Bodies GP exhaust. Was pretty loud at idle and low revv's. The other GSX-R too sounded nice even with stock pipes.
On the way back, I went ahead to take video clips on the other riders and of course video's of the said superbikes on the only smooth sweepping curve on the hill.
Unfortunately Pradeep crashed downhill and called me for help. Pradeep was descending on 4th or 5th gear which was the error he committed (according to him). Trying to avoid an incorrectly parked car and avoiding running into the kerb sent him to the ground. Pradeep was lucky to escape with just bruises on his hands and knees. Badly bruised actually as he was not wearing gloves. Luckily he had bought a new LS2 helmet which was better than the earlier one (as said by him). He landed on his head and the helmet did its job well.
We called his friend and requested him to come to the airport so he could ride back with pradeep pillion. That done, we took pradeep to a resto nearby for breakfast as he needed it very badly. He sat pillion on his bike while vkushal rode and tibby accompanied them so vkushal could come back for his bike along with tibby.
After breakfast Pradeep could ride and so we rode to the airport where his friend was waiting. We dropped him off and rode ahead to witness another gory scene.
A duo was sprawled on the right lane (fallen off a bike) and the guy probably hadn't strapped his helmet. Helmet was thrown away i guess when he fell. The lady was badly injured with a head injury and blood was all over the road. CPR was being administered to both till the ambulance arrived. Hopefully both survive. The scene was horrible.. the lady looked like she wouldn't make it
Please Please always wear a helmet... PILLION RIDER TOO !!! And please STRAP it on. A helmet which is not strapped on is as good as not wearing one. Ride/drive safe, use your mirrors and anticipate problems so you can avoid it in time.
We went to CCD on a lil ahead for some coffee and breakfast for ourselves and an R1 joined us. Sadly the bike was not being cared for much. Both the brake fluid reservoirs were less than the lower level.
Reached home a lil past 1pm.
Guys who would like to ride with us henceforth please note... Helmet, armored jacket, full finger (is that what its called?), knee guards are mandatory. Please dont misunderstand me. I dont make the rules or dictate stuff. I am saying this in the interest of your personal safety. I have witnessed 2 crashed in the last 15 days and by luck both riders escaped major injuries (one was adequately geared except for knee guards).
Back to topic, here are the pics.ATGATT - Because hospital ceilings are boring !!!

That was a random bike parked on the side of the road while i had stopped for shooting pics.
@vibhor - get A* knee guards. The bionic ones cost 5k. They feel so comfy i could go to bed with them on.

Nice to see the Ninja's rolling together
@aditya: man those sbk's look sweet! was there yesterday and there was a R6 who had come just for the curves. He did like 4-5 laps of the hill !- You spend half your life before you realize your are ordinary, you then, either are too lazy to change or you do the extraordinary and change the world!

I spoke to Irfan for a few mins. Pretty down to earth guy.Originally posted by strider View PostI know those SBKs the CBR belongs to a friend mine Irfan and the Black/Gold Gixxer to his cousin Tabrez...very nice guys probably would have given you guys a pillion ride, had anyone asked for it..
Pillion ride on those machines? No sir, not for me.
I had an opportunity to ride pillion on a GSXR1000 in Pune last year and luckily i didnt have a heart attack. I cant even sit pillion on a puny commuter bike. For me its the drivers/riders seat. That said i wouldnt even ride these bikes if offered.ATGATT - Because hospital ceilings are boring !!!

Nice writeup there Adi. There's nothing else I could add.
What else can the mini-SBK owners do in B'lore, apart from riding on weekends.Originally posted by johnblr View PostAwesome so many active ninja riders around. Good going bikers

I didn't have a chat witht he SBK guys, but Adi did.
They seemed like guys next door (with SBKs
), but only had a helmet for riding gear!! & the 2 pillion riders didn't even have that. I must say, they had too much faith/courage/foolhardiness in them..
Haha.. I know how petrified you are/sound when taken pillion..Originally posted by n_aditya View PostPillion ride on those machines? No sir, not for me.

My views on the YZF-R15 V2.0: http://www.xbhp.com/talkies/news/198...tml#post699240
The pleasure is when your rear wheel slides, and you bring it back; and when the front wheel lifts, you take your time bringing it back.
