It's true, costly toh hai woh, plus its crowded too. I think for a group like us, a less formal, local types restaurant would be a better option. Let's search for a GTA in all the major corners of Bangalore !! !
I know we are discussing about a central location, but there is a nice dhaba after Hoskote in the Old Madras Road. the food is good, and the tea is really good. It's right on the highway, so that awesome feeling of sipping tea with vehicles zooming past you is an added bonus. If we plan for a group ride in that direction someday, we can have food there.

I had gone to Yelagiri this sunday with a pillion. I am sharing few of those pics with everyone as this trip wouldn't have been possible if it wasn't for the first G2G I went in January.
This time I explored a bit more of Yelagiri, I went to the base of the trekking area and for obvious reasons, did not go for trekking ;-) .
Also a few kilometers from the main town, I ended up in a stranded place with a few trails on either sides. I followed one of them (with a little experience gained from the Jayamnagali trip with xBHP) and ended up in a nice terraced farm. I stopped there for water, had a few words with the locals and took pictures of my bike against the backdrop.
I had started at 6:00 A.M from Bangalore and was back by 3:30 P.M.
I tried the "only coffee" shop enroute. It was really really hot, enough to have kept me waiting for a few minutes before attempting to drink it. Maybe that's why it's called degree coffee. It was one of the best cup of coffee I have had in recent times.
I had to skip the plan of having lunch at Ambur because by 12 the weather was so hot that I wanted to get back to Bangalore a.s.a.p.
