there are multiple routes which you can take to go to gokarna from coorg. however, the best route for me is to take the mangalore route (it will save you some odd 100 kms or so). From madikeri, take the SH 88 all the way till Mani where you join the Bangalore-Mangalore highway. This part of SH 88 is not perfect, with some potholes, at places, but would not make you feel uncomfortable. Once you hit the Bangalore Mangalore highway, you would encounter good tarmac. Once you reach Mangalore, you would reach a junction from where you should take the right towards Udupi (the NH 17). Road is in pretty good shape and you would enjoy riding here for sure, especially at one place you would encounter Kali river on your right and the Arabian sea on your left. This NH 17 takes you directly to Gokarna.

Mandatory things: All necessary Docs like DL, RC Card, Insurance papers and Emission Control Card.
Basic Riding gears including Helmet, Armoured Jacket, Gloves, Knee guards and Elbow Guards. Same applicable for pillions also.

A word of utmost caution/importance: Please be on time.
Also please Fill up the tank a day before, before going to sleep.
Those who have ridden with us earlier are strictly instructed to be in compete riding gears, else you will be asked to continue your own ride. People joining for the first time and are not having proper riding gear they are advised to have proper helmet, a thick jacket, proper denim jeans, shoes.
NO RASH RIDING WILL BE INCULCATED AND EVERYONE HAS TO FOLLOW THE GROUP RIDING ETIQUETTES.

A little OT here.. But i dunno where to ask..

Does anyone know where i can find a luggage carrier [the big ones: only the carrier, no boxes] for Bullets in Bangalore?? I know J.C road. but any specific shop where i can find good quality ones at a fair price??
Its for a friend of mine.. We're planning a trip soon, and would like to get some info ASAP, please..
Ive checked a few shops which are quoting me stupendous prices..[2500/- min, and they looked cheaply made] So i thought someone may be of a little help here..
And along with that any possibility of there being one available for the NS too?? :P

Check with Sandhya Auto and Fixwell Auto on JC road. Both these places are well known among Bullet riders. On JC road, take the small lane next to the SBI bank that leads you right to the shop. Both of them have the panniers that you are looking for and the build quality was good. The last time I inquired, Fixwell had quoted INR 1800/-.

Try cramster shop mate. I am using their luggage bags for long rides. They are 45 litre of capacity each side. They look smart as well. Shop put up at Cunningham road.
