Considering R15 and also Apache, those bikes are more concentrated on the top end(especially R15)... For R15 the real power starts to check in after 5K+ RPM and
which has got more top end... FZ/Fazer is designed for mostly city riding... as i have touched 122kmh on my FZ, mind you its one heck of a difficulty to get those speed, while on R15 122 is so simple... so my opinion is to ride below 90 which will be really good and fun, also you can rip the bike above 100 occasionally too...

ya rite...i used to ride in 90s and reduced above 100 speed...so i guess am not hurting the engine by riding constant 90s

From your free service the cost of engine oil will be chargable and if anything needed to be changed it's cost also... as of yours the bill should be below 700Rs/-
BTW where did you get the yamalube FS from? is it availbale in the yamaha SVC?

well had a few questions for the SVC guys on seeing the bill , today evening while picking up the bike from them , hammered out some details , asking for boxes n stuff and got the oil charges dropped to 540rs but nothin else , and yes yamalube FS is there in the SVC itself , made them show me the can and do the oil change in front of me , so thats sorted out .

checked up with the extra 40rs , that was for the damper clutch . any idea what that is ? my clutch is much softer now , so that definitely helped .

Forgot to mention , i had put this in couple of weeks back . LED tail lights

The clutch damper softens the response of the clutch engagement/disengagement.

Those LEDs are nice. Even i'm also planning to install them.

is this an additional fitting or the stock one has gone kaput?

What was the grade mentioned? Is it usable for R15 also?
                      How many kms.does this last?
A pic of the can would also be helpful.

Congrats! That does make the bike look special! So is this also a Yamaha official accessory? How much does it cost? My friend will definitely want this for his FZ!

I had my 3rd service on 25th march & had changed my oil to castrol P1 so I would switch over to Motul on my next service.

PS: I had my bike's service on 25th March 2010 & rode it for around 100 kms after service till 28th March 2010 & thereafter i left mumbai for official reasons. I'll be getting back to mumbai tomorrow. The problem is that my bike is idle since nearly a month & even the engine was'nt started by anyone since last 1 month. I have had such experience in past when I left my bike home & returned after a couple of weeks & when attempted to start the bike, it wont start at all no matter what i do. It takes atleast 10-15 minutes or even more & a combination of cleaning spark plug, using choke, giving full throttle etc to start the bike finally. It feels very bad to crank the engine continuously for minutes but I have no choice. However I make sure my every attempt to crank up the starter is of less then 5 seconds as suggested to me by a frnd.

Hence I'm nervous since I know the bike wont start so easily even this time since its nearly a month now since her ignition is turned on. Therefore I seek your advices on this matter & further suggestion if any.
The Petronas latest batch costs about Rs.450 a can....earlier it was Rs.400....
And yes you should not crank the engine for more than 4-5 seconds at one go.....

If u are starting the bike after a long time just give the choke and wait for sometime
before cranking the engine....it wud start sooner than normal methods....
I do mine the same way......just try it...
                        cheers......

If its a free service then i suppose you shudnt be charged for the tappet adjustment....
just get a clear explanation from them for that bill....

And r u sure it was Yamalube full synth.....just curious as to did you look at the label properly.....what grade was it????

Came at home yesterday night, ran down to garage within 5 min with the keys, helmet, gloves etc & after initial cleaning etc, tried to start.. I always have the choke on when starting after such a long time. This time my FZ came to life within 2 min or I can say 6-7 times of trying the starter. Trick that I think worked well is, Keep the choke on while bike is in neutral & try the starter while increasing the throttle varyingly. Anyways, it got started, took it for a spin for a couple of kms below 4k rpm before opening her up yo higher rpms.. Strange enough to find that after almost month of being idle, bike runs as good as new & both the tyres lost just 3 psi each
Thnx for the guidance anyways. TC
                          Cheers

Nope not an additional fitting , stock one went kaput , but the replacement is helping out a lot , my clutch is way softer and easier to handle ... surprising that it went kaput anyway ... i'm not into stunting , have very less use of the clutch as my gear shifts can be numbered easily ... 80km of highway driving per day ...
