Completely agree on this. Its usually done in XXXkgs or XXXmtrs of AL. Also, will definitely not be worth the price you pay for having it red annodized. The normal silverish grey(Standard for Aluminium) itself costs around 250-300 bucks for a mtr length of Aluminium pipe. non standard shapes require suitable mounts also which again adds to the cost.

Got my bike two weeks before it has been a struggle ever since.one day i was riding to my friends house at night suddenly some noises came whenever i gave the throttle both fairings is vibrating at its best didnt know what to do contacted the supervisor hes said theres nothing worry it will be gone in one or two days.but it increased again this week i contacted him and complained again he said bring the bike next day..gave them the bike they removed and refitted the fairings yesterday got it back evening i asked if he resloved it he said yes check it.when i drove the bike it was even more but the funny thing is before yesterday only the fairings vibrated but now everything is vibrating from the footrest handle and to the silencer..when i said the problem is not solved they said that is the best they can do.Cursing everyday that i had bought the bike from there...

Want to know whats the problem?
Was there problem with their fittings of fairings?
Can i give the bike outside Hsc?

Find urself a competent mech for such minor issues. Visit the SVC only for periodic service to maintain warranty. Chuck the SVC after warranty period is over.
Use double sided tape and cycle tubes for fairing. For the other parts, check washers for engine mount. Get all bolts opened and re tightened.
            Got a $5 head? Get a $5 helmet.

What I am fearing is.. Will a 250cc segment be able to compete with the growing bike industry in India?? i mean.. now people are looking into 400cc bikes.. if the 250cc from Hero is competitive price then it will be a great success.. keeping in mind the bike should produce atleast 30bhp raw power

From what I heard the HH 250cc is the product of Joint Venture of Buel and HH..It will be 25~27 Bhp and priced competitively...less than CBR price.

That should be pretty impressive.. all i wish is that they don't disappoint us like the way they did with ZMR specs.. atleast i was disappointed.. also, i hope its going to be a Sports Tourer just like the ZMR/ZMA.. but i won't be going for it.. i am waiting for a half litre from hero else it will be Duke 390 keeping the ZMR with me

The only way HMC can do some good business in the 250cc segment n above (power segment basically) is by 1. producing something truly mind blowing 2. yet pricing the bike very competitively.
Else this venture or adventure would fail miserably. & that would be primarily for the following reasons.

                            1. HMC was never known for producing power bikes.
                            2. HMC bikes have been trusted more bcoz of reliable Honda engines & Honda is no more there as the savior.
                            3. The new partner is kind of unknown to the bike world & building the same amount of trust for a power bike in particular is extremely difficult. Just think that many people are still not ready to trust even a Hyosong
                            4. There are many branded players in the Indian bike market now. The competition is too high.
                            5. The exposure to even the common man is quite high now a days. With more knowledge, People want more in terms of everything except price. HMC fan base is already on a downgrade & the best example is Bajaj Discover taking over as the largest selling bike in India; surpassing Splendor.
                            6. Buying capability of people has increased considerably over time. People interested in buying power bikes no longer hesitate to shell out a couple more thousand bucks if they get a truly better bike. Therefore the key would be "how much less" HMC's new bike would be than the next branded bike with the same/more capacity.

                            My Bikes:
Yamaha RD (The one which taught me what riding is; Can never forget this one)
Bajaj Caliber (The one closest to my heart; I still have it after 15 yrs !)
Yamaha R15 V2.0 (The best I had; Ah it let me become the college hunk I once used to be :) )
Hero Honda Karizma ZMR (The bike for the family man in me; The practical one; The current one)

Pardon my ignorance, but is your Simota reusable?

If no, time to get a new one. If yes, follow steps as mentioned:
                                1. Dip it in half a bucket of water with 2 tsp detergent. (ariel/surf/tide etc)
                                2. Agitate it slightly so that it gets soaked in the foam well.
                                3. Leave for half an hour.
                                4. Agitate it again.
                                5. Rinse all the surf in running water. This has to be done properly, else pores would remain clogged.
                                6. Let it dry in the sun (and not fan) - natural drying is recommended.
                                7. Re-oil it with a regular motor oil/aerosol oil spray. Do not dip it in oil though. It should not be drowned in oil.
                                8. Wrap it in a newspaper and squeeze it slightly to let the extra oil dip out. - @ashwinprakas, please guide us for point 7 and 8.

I'm unable to locate Ashwin's thread on cleaning his filter. Darn, I hope I didn't miss anything.
