Guys I observed this oil leak. Pic says it all. Had never oiled my chain in past few days. Then all of a sudden there are four to six drops of oil on the floor. Please do see the pics and advise guys.

Well... this is the case in most of the bikes.. over time after lubricating the chain.. it tends to leak.. just take a cloth and clean it.. there is no possible way for oil to leak except from the chain on the left side..

As per the manual,, the oil level should not exceed the upper mark and should not be below to lower mark....i had filled the Veedol Swift..its a 1 ltr ..and usually 1.10 ltr need to fill in ZMR and 1.30 ltr if clutch box and oil cooler is opened....currently the oil level is little below the upper mark (approx 20 ml short)...should i fill it or left as it is....

Best part is the horn can be opened and repaired, and ROOTS supplies all parts from Metal Diaphragm( 50/- each) to contacts, to coils etc., and support is good...Roots company supports their Horns with spares and so the horns are not use and throw ...

I am using vibrasonic in my car from last 5 years and replaced the contact one time.
But I don't recommend using car horns on smaller two-wheelers because the driver gets a wrong impression of vehicle behind him. Before we check the RVM, we usually identify the vehicle behind us by listening to its horn. Every type of vehicle has a characteristic sound and IMHO they should not be interchanged.

As psr sir has mentioned "It is meant only for bigger bikes, Car, Van and LUVs..."

Nothing to worry. It'll be fine. Many people fill with 1 L hence, tension ko maaro goli!

Run in period? I assume you mean max distance till next refill. Assuming its a SS oil, I'd say 3k kms.

                  Semi synth or fully synth?
An FS oil will last 4k kms.

You can try rubbing oil between your thumb and fore finger. If its time to replace, you'll find dirt/grime etc suspended in oil.
Don't judge an oil by the color.

Mineral oil change 1.5~2 K Kms

                      Semi Synthetic 2~2.5 K Kms

                      Fully Synthetic 2.5~3.5 K Kms.....

More or less change depends on one's preference ...

I think the mineral oil which HH uses, its no good post 1000 kms, 1500 is also more

earlier you change better, though i agree with rest

Well, I used both shell and agip, both being fully synthetic. After about two or three months of usage of these oils to approx 3k kms each, I find agip a bit better than shell. Now I need to source out motul to start comparison again with agip!!

This is because Shell oils are highly refined mineral oils. They are not exactly semi/fully synth per se!

I have a query here. The exhaust pipe in my bike has developed a layer of rust (visible under the fairing). Everything is ok mechanically. What is the most effective way of getting rid of it?
Are you sure it's rust? And not just dirt deposits?

Mine has been kept out in the rain for weeks at a stretch, due to new hostels rules which prevents us to park inside the compound, and yet it hasn't rusted, though there are some dirt patches that looks similar to rust and won't go away unless you scrub it off properly.
