Re: Hero Honda Karizma ZMR
Well... this is the case in most of the bikes.. over time after lubricating the chain.. it tends to leak.. just take a cloth and clean it.. there is no possible way for oil to leak except from the chain on the left side..Originally posted by abhi7013 View Post

Re: Hero Honda Karizma ZMR
As per the manual,, the oil level should not exceed the upper mark and should not be below to lower mark....i had filled the Veedol Swift..its a 1 ltr ..and usually 1.10 ltr need to fill in ZMR and 1.30 ltr if clutch box and oil cooler is opened....currently the oil level is little below the upper mark (approx 20 ml short)...should i fill it or left as it is....Last edited by veryhiphop; 05-17-2013, 01:36 PM.

I am using vibrasonic in my car from last 5 years and replaced the contact one time.Originally posted by psr View PostHas anyone tried ROOTS VIBRASONIC MINI ?..Each horn consumes 2.5 Amps of current and to gether 5 AMPS.....It is really shrill and Loud, and does not put too much strain on the battery....It is meant for bigger bikes, Car, Van and LUVs....
Best part is the horn can be opened and repaired, and ROOTS supplies all parts from Metal Diaphragm( 50/- each) to contacts, to coils etc., and support is good...Roots company supports their Horns with spares and so the horns are not use and throw ...
----consecutive posts auto-merged-----
But I don't recommend using car horns on smaller two-wheelers because the driver gets a wrong impression of vehicle behind him. Before we check the RVM, we usually identify the vehicle behind us by listening to its horn. Every type of vehicle has a characteristic sound and IMHO they should not be interchanged.
As psr sir has mentioned "It is meant only for bigger bikes, Car, Van and LUVs..."

Run in period? I assume you mean max distance till next refill. Assuming its a SS oil, I'd say 3k kms.Originally posted by veryhiphop View Postok..i was thinking to buy another bottle of oil....well buy it later; if oil level goes down....

Semi synth or fully synth?Originally posted by veryhiphop View Postyes its Synthetic...
How to judge a oil on losing its stream....
An FS oil will last 4k kms.
You can try rubbing oil between your thumb and fore finger. If its time to replace, you'll find dirt/grime etc suspended in oil.
Don't judge an oil by the color.Got a $5 head? Get a $5 helmet.

Mineral oil change 1.5~2 K KmsOriginally posted by veryhiphop View PostI think its SS..as per the bottle of oil its written as "synthetic blend engine oil"
Semi Synthetic 2~2.5 K Kms
Fully Synthetic 2.5~3.5 K Kms.....
More or less change depends on one's preference ...When Was The Last Time,You Did Something For The First Time.

Re: Hero Honda Karizma ZMR
Well, I used both shell and agip, both being fully synthetic. After about two or three months of usage of these oils to approx 3k kms each, I find agip a bit better than shell. Now I need to source out motul to start comparison again with agip!!

Re: Hero Honda Karizma ZMR
This is because Shell oils are highly refined mineral oils. They are not exactly semi/fully synth per se!Originally posted by abhi7013 View PostWell, I used both shell and agip, both being fully synthetic. Re: Hero Honda Karizma ZMR
Are you sure it's rust? And not just dirt deposits?Originally posted by Divya Sharan View PostThe thread is dormant nowadays... Wake up people. Happy Labor's day to all!
I have a query here. The exhaust pipe in my bike has developed a layer of rust (visible under the fairing). Everything is ok mechanically. What is the most effective way of getting rid of it?
Mine has been kept out in the rain for weeks at a stretch, due to new hostels rules which prevents us to park inside the compound, and yet it hasn't rusted, though there are some dirt patches that looks similar to rust and won't go away unless you scrub it off properly.
