Thats wad my friend who works in the showroom of garware told meOriginally posted by shrinathrao View PostJust one question to hyosung GT650 owners. How much cost is involved in the fibre body parts if you drop the bike or god forbids crash? Is it same like ninja where you blow offff your entire savings or lesser?
This question actually is just to know the running and long term cost of GT650 ownership.
Dont know how true it is though

Hi maples.Good to hear that you are considering a 600cc bike.Originally posted by maples View Postconfused between hyosung gt650 or honda600 or suzuki650 , which is better??? planning to buy in 2011 end..
Suzuki 650cc bike has no confirmed news yet.The Honda CBR600F will definitely make it hear, will it will cost more around 8.5 to 9 Lacs.
I recommend you to consider the GT650R,it has proper supersport bike styling and has a suzuki 650cc enginee too.

I hate this. I have to somehow stop thinking of ways of getting this bike and convince myself into forgetting about it.
Nice review. Seems like a rip off from a magazine (before you start clicking on the red smiley, what i am trying to say is, your article is so good it should find its place in a magazine)
I am in love with that white hyosung. There is more blood flowing in my veins now than it did the whole week. Just love the review and and the bikes.
P.S. I am usually mild and demeanored when I post. But you awoke the child in me who refuses to stop screaming of how awesome the bike is.

Bro, let me give you a little idea about GT 650R.Originally posted by shrinathrao View PostJust one question to hyosung GT650 owners. My GT 650R fell on road, when a speedy car hit it from back side just after 5 days of my purchase ( my bike is 25 days old now). My bike was in standing position only, not even moving. What i lost:
- Left side handle bar
(the worst thing, it fell on ground and handle gone)
Cost: Rs. 4397.40
- Left side mirror
Cost: Rs. 3600
- Left side lever assembly clutch
Cost: Rs. 2365.15
- Scratches light ones (no repair)
- Service cost at home as it was impossible to ride bike without that handle bar :
Rs. 3500
- 10 days of wait and 40 calls to hyosung to get that repaired.
I hope you got the idea of maintenance. After bike got damaged, i had to take help of almost 8-10 people to be towed it to my home, using a loading tempo.
So an advice to all GT 650R owners , do anything, handle damn carefully this bike otherwise a single fall, will put you in worst situation like this. Getting towing service from the Hysoung in other cities, where they don't have service centers, is pretty tough and time taking, including service cost and towing cost."Pain is temporary , pride is forever"

Sorry bro to hear about the damages to your bike that too when it was not your fault. Please do put frame slider for your GT,I will be installing mine soon.Originally posted by vikyk View PostMy GT 650R fell on road, when a speedy car hit it from back side just after 5 days of my purchase ( my bike is 25 days old now). Sportbikes or any bike with a fairing are highly prone to this kind of damage purely by design. On these bikes even a tip-over can have costly consequences. But what if there was something simple you could add to your bike that could minimize the damage that can occur from such an incident?
Frame sliders which are basically a type of knob device that protrudes out from the side of the bike, are designed to perform this task.

Hmm...considering that my ZMR took 2months to repair itself in the showroom and shoved me with a Rs.13000 bill, I must be the only one thinking that you didn't end up that bad.Originally posted by vikyk View PostBro, let me give you a little idea about GT 650R.

Especially considering you're bike is an exotic one and mine is pretty common. (Perspectives are subjective to theory of relativity- hence exotic and common)
But its still quite expensive. I hope you get your bike soon.Hero Honda Karizma ZMR

. BDW it depends how many parts you have got damaged in your bike. More parts damaged and this much expense is ok. But some little things damaged and most irritating thing, just a fall and you can't even ride the thing, which needs 4 guys to pull it back if it fall anywhere.
My bike is now with me and i am riding it again well, with a lot precautions.
Can you please explain more about these frame sliders? From where you re getting same for your's?Originally posted by melroyal View PostSorry bro to hear about the damages to your bike that too when it was not your fault. Please do put frame slider for your GT,I will be installing mine soon.

Frame sliders, also called frame protectors, fairing protectors, or crash bobbins, are an accessory used on street motorcycles for the purpose of maintaining the bike's side fairings and internal components in the event of a crash, or preventing damage from dumping (dropping) the bike. They are made of plastics such as Delrin, acetal, or nylon, or sometimes aluminum. The frame sliders are usually located and installed on the engine bolts on the left and right side fairings.Originally posted by vikyk View PostCan you please explain more about these frame sliders? Along the same lines, sliders are sometimes added to motorcycle bar ends, and to front or rear axles, called fork sliders and swingarm spool sliders. These provide some potential damage reduction for the suspension components, wheels, and other parts by making contact with the ground before the rest of the bike.

Great, thanks for the information. Can you tell me from where you will be buying these for your bike? I can also contact to same vendor or have to search for one.Originally posted by melroyal View PostFrame sliders, also called frame protectors, fairing protectors, or crash bobbins, are an accessory used on street motorcycles for the purpose of maintaining the bike's side fairings and internal components in the event of a crash, or preventing damage from dumping (dropping) the bike.
