I'm refering to a personalised communication sent to the booked people like this one. It does give a better customer-focused feel considering that it's a product that costs 2L+.

        Dear Sahil

The KTM 390 DUKE has been detuned slightly. But 43.5 bHp is awesome when it comes in such small a package

Hope the long & arduous wait for 390 DUKE gets over in India soon.

Whats the process to change the REV LIMITER in D390. Need to know, so that i can limit the revs while handing the bike to others who are not experts at riding.
Now revs are limited to 7500 till first service.

revvs are not limited to 7500 rpm as far as i know it is only gear shift indicator , u can only adjust shift indicator and not rpm limit ..
sorry to be rude but i think this has been discussed already many times. unless my knowledge is faulty .

Got a call from Popular KTM, Mekhri Circle where I picked up the 390. Apparently, they want to replace some parts for 'enhanced performance'

This may be a euphemism for recall. The parts that will be replaced 'totally free of cost' are "(1) Fan Assembly (2) Rotor parts" (verbatim)

Apparently it takes 2-3 hours to fix this. It might be an early end to the discussion on 'interesting design' on the design of radiator fan. (Time my legs get additional hot air massage)

Did anyone else get these calls?

Will keep you posted on how it goes..

                      Check this post.

The call is probably to do the alterations to the functionality of the radiator fan.

This change will be done only for the vehicles delivered in the initial lot, now the change has been carried in the factory itself

WE can limit the engine revs. Shift interval, its different thing. I saw Technician limiting the revs to 7500 before delivery to all bikes each at a time. He said, they will let the revs free after 1st service. Will try to get the process from them at 1st service. Even in owners manual it clearly said revs allowed till 7500 until 1st service.
                            Thanks

This is unfair. It's should be left completely up to the owner of the vehicle how he wants to treat/ride his motorcycle right out of the showroom. The showroom shouldn't take this freedom away from the owner. Their responsibility is to instruct and make the owner aware about the run-in procedure and perform proper pre-delivery checks, that's all! They can't force the rider to not ride at higher RPMs.

Agree to the freedom part, but I guess these are set to avoid unnecessary warranty claims because of engine that had bad run-in.
