Re: Duke 390: Long Term Ride Review
Appropos your above letter, KTM - BAJAJ really have to up their delivery service. Customers who have been waiting ever so patiently since June have still not recieved proper communication from the dealers or company officials.Originally posted by mohitahuja View PostThe mail I sent to Bajaj after being harassed by the dealer on Tuesday:
Respected Sir,
Kindly note your South Mumbai KTM showroom has a bunch of MORONS (trying to) running a show (but badly failing everytime).
I waited 5 months for the bike. Everyone did. I paid 40,000/- in advance. I never created a fuss or said a word. The dealer never called or sent a mail notifying me anything.
Finally, bike came in showroom (warehouse) more than 20 days ago. I called as i came to know about it. The dealer never called. He said I should come and make the balance payment. Which i did, the same day.
The dealer said 5 days and you'll get the bike. The agents have been delaying my paperwork since more than 2 weeks now. Remaining bikes from my lot were bought to the showroom in a truck for delivery, mine still staying back in the warehouse. I was given the option of taking it myself from the warehouse,a good 60kms from the city as the dealer said he couldn't afford to hire a truck for just 1 bike. (Quite funny considering its the premium bike of KTM, Europe's largest manufacturer...).
I said, i'll go and get it rather than have a guy ruin the engine of India's premier sportsbike during run-in. They agreed HAPPILY. After delaying with their agent inspite of me following up and asking them to comply with their own agent, their paperwork wasn't done on time.
I still kept calm. They said anyhow all will be done by Tuesday and Tuesday eve the number would arrive, wednesday morning being a holiday I could finally go collect the bike from the warehouse on 2nd October.
I called the agent and followed up all day. He said please ask Sai Service to send their demand draft for the RTO so he could continue with the formalities. I've been going out of my way to ensure after failing periodically on the last 2 time linesOF LAST WEEK, THEN MONDAY, THEN TUESDAY, he complies AT LEAST THIS TIME.
The dealer called saying the number will arrive, I should come to the showroom to collect papers and go for delivery tomorrow. Also, I must get my brother to sign the delivery note as the bike is on his name. HE stays in a nearby city, travelled 65kms to make it.
I called the dealer before leaving to still confirm. HE said you come, the no is on the way. After cancelling all my meetings for the evening abruptly, calling my brother in an hrs notice from another city, the dealer says, after me spending 7pm to 8.30pm in the dealership, that the number hasn't come. I can't take my bike.
ZERO COORDINATION AMONG THE WORKERS AND DEPARTMENTS. WASTE OF MY TIME AND MONEY. 2 HRS WASTED AT THE DEALERSHIP. DEALER SAYS COLLECT THE BIKE ON FRIDAY.
AM I A FOOL?
IS MY TIME OF NO VALUE?
CONFIRMING AND CALLING ABRUPTLY, THENJ DENYING THE DELIVERY DUE TO GOOF UPS AS USUAL. HOW MANY TIMES ARE YOUR EMPLOYEES ALLOWED TO APOLOGIZE????
ITS A 2 DAY JOB TO REGISTER AND MORE THAN 15 DAYS HAVE PASSED
AFTER SPEAKING TO YOUR AGENT AT 8.30 PM TODAY, THEY CONFESSED THEY TOOK OUT THE DD VERY LATE AND COULDN'T SUBMIT IT TO THE RTO ON TIME(OTHER DEPARTMENTS WERN'T EVEN NOTIFIED) HENCE I WAS MADE TO WASTE MY TIME AND GO ALL THE WAY TO VASAI A GOOD 60KMS AWAY ON A WORKING DAY TO TAKE DELIVERY.
I'M THE ADMIN OF KTM 390 DUKE MUMBAI OWNER'S CLUB (THE DUKES OF MUMBAI)
I APPRECIATE THIS ATTITUDE OF EMPLOYEES, RETURNED THEM ALL MY RECEIPTS. I DO NOT WANT YOUR BIKE. OUTSIDE SUB-DEALERS ARE SOURCING BIKES FROM THE SAME SHOWROOM AND SELLING AT A PREMIUM AND GENUINE CUSTOMERS BEING TAKEN FOR A RIDE.
I WANT MY MONEY BACK WITH INTEREST AND HEAVY COMPENSATION, ELSE I'LL BE FORCED TO SUE YOUR DEALER FOR INADEQUACY AND DEFICIENCY OF SERVICE, DISRESPECT OF THE CLIENT'S TIME AND MONEY.
ALL RECEIPTS ARE WITH YOUR DEALER. I'M AGITATED, PISSED, PATIENCE HAS BEEN TAKEN FOR A RIDE.
THEY CAN KEEP THE BIKE AND TAKE OTHER PPL FOR A RIDE.
I WAS FINALLY PROMISED DELIVERY ON WEDNESDAY, I WANT THE BIKE DELIVERED (NOT RIDDEN) TO MY ADDRESS BY TOMORROW EVE, ELSE ASK YOUR DELAER TO REVERT WITH THE FULL REFUND + COMPENSATION FOR MENTAL HARASSMENT, NEGLIGENCE, DEFICIENCY OF SERVICE.
EITHER THE BIKE OR 2,50,000/- RETURNED BY TOMORROW EVE.

I sincerely wish that you get your bike delivered ASAP brother. You have been without a bike for over 5 months now! This is travesty of customer service at the very least.
The BAJAJ workers strike had aggravated matters to a large extent earlier.
Happy riding.

Re: Duke 390: Long Term Ride Review
Anyone's bike came with mud flap in the front wheel. Here in Kolkata head mechanic says that the bikes will be recalled for parts replacements.
That's nice!! I wonder I should have done the same to the KTM guys to receive some free goodies!Originally posted by mohitahuja View PostThanks for your words guys... The dealer agreed compensation worth 6k.

Tankpad and Fuel cap sticker both cost Rs 4450 approx. Fuel cap sticker is fine but I found tank pad was not worth the price. I made a mistakeOriginally posted by mohitahuja View PostThanks for your words guys... The dealer agreed compensation worth 6k.

Rather get a Paddock stand or some other power parts.
Though mine did not came with mud flap. I got a call from showroom to get it fitted (they already updated me that they would come). It is really usefully to save the radiator from all the slush and worries that the fins might be damaged.Originally posted by Jonak View PostAnyone's bike came with mud flap in the front wheel. AFAIK, there are no parts replacement but only alterations. They would be adding a relay to update the functionality of the fan is what I came to know.
Mine has done 937 kms till now. Will be going for service on Friday.2007 - Hero Honda CBZ Xtreme
