Thanks for the explanation bro, but the exhaust is barely old, its just some 3-4k kms i'hv been riding with it and that too in a nice way only, no red lining or always in higher range. What is causing it to depreciate so fast ?Originally posted by joelkraju View Post

Ok bro, any problem if running in the present condition, that is if the glass wool is less ? I have totally no idea about this glasswool thing.Originally posted by joelkraju View PostLol after getting the exhaust and fitting it I had to change my glass wool within 2 weeks :P though yeah I used to rip it!

Well, the exhaust note does become muffled after 3k kms of riding. Carbon builds up everywhere and suppresses the metallic sound that the exhaust made when new.
About the glass wool thing, for a mixed riding style ( occasional ripping ), when should the glass wool be replaced ?
To answer the previous question, glass wool is a good acoustic insulator which also has a decent heat tolerance. Used to muffle loud noises. So the glasswool in the exhaust is meant to muffle the noise made by the exhaust. If the exhaust note is not deep and bassy then its most likely that the glasswool has burnt away. So a periodic refill is necessary.Last edited by ashwin208; 04-05-2012, 07:50 PM.WARNING : This bike has been Joel-ed

Joel suggested to get it top-up every 7-8 k kms, depending on the riding conditions, mine is more on the sane side, with occassional rips , so i guess i can wait for some more time.Originally posted by ashwin208 View PostWell, the exhaust note does become muffled after 3k kms of riding. operation of FFE looks scary!!!...don't have much idea about technical stuff...hardly 15 days passed i am seeing red/brown colored powder like stuff coming from rear of the exhaust...is it burnt glass wool?Originally posted by joelkraju View PostYou need to change or refill glasswool!!! Your bike wont be sounding bassy rite?? TREBLE sorta sound??
You need to open the exhaust and fill in GLASS wool

This is the thing you need to open!! their wont be glass wool remaining in the end can !!

This is the thing( glass wool) you need to fill!! Once done the bike will be more bassy

First Impression of FFE
Hi Joel,
First word that came of my mouth is WOW
after installing the FFE today and hearing it roar. I am still using Db Killer as the sound is sweet better then stock any given time
. It sounds amazing and without DB killer people around me were numb including me after hearing the Lion ROAR !!!!!
My new mechanic Rahman who was introduced to me by my friend xbhp member hypergamer-Kailash was impressed with make and the performance of FFE. . He is the head mechanic with one of the KTM duke branch-New Bombay and also certified mechanic for Ninja 250.
He was suprised with just FFE such a radical change in the bike both in term of pick up and overall performance. My bike was smooth but after FFE it become buttery smooth
. Krish and Joelraju were bang right about it
. While my bike was getting FFE treatment I had 2-3 hours of wait time as i had to get my bike serviced. Meantime I went to Vashi branch for KTM duke and got a test ride. I was impressed with the bike and also price tag of 1,32,000 but can only comment on performance after a test ride on pulsar 200 NS comes out
. I am sure both with Joel'd later for better performance.
The best thing about today's day was Kailash friend Akshay got his Ducati 848 Evo and its a monster bike. Just sitting on it was so thrilling but did not ride it
. Even after test ride on KTM Duke and looking at Ducati 848 in action, I was stilll impressed with FFE.
What you have done for Pulsar 220 and other indian bikes nobody can beat that. Earlier I use to like riding my bike now I love it so much that I am waiting when will I go for a ride
With just FFE my bike's whole ATTITUDE has changed
and with that kind of exhaust note people turn around to see which sports bike is it and are suprised that its Pulsar 220!!!Shocked and Awed.
I can't wait now to get the big bore kit and even my new mechanic is excited for it to see how much more difference will it make in terms of performance. I will upload the photos later for FFE however I am attaching KTM Duke and Ducati 848 pics just to let people know even after seeing those 2 bikes I still love my pulsar 220 and all thanks to Joel
.
Top Speed with FFE was around 130kmph with pillion. I weigh at 77 and Kailash is 60 which is impressive and without ripping the FFE too much. I will post my top speed with FFE once I get a nice juicy naked road
. Also today mileage was not that impressive. I am not sure about how much it was as did not measure(was hypnotized by FFE
) but i felt it was not par with stock and db killer is in use and the reason is traffic cops here in Bombay are a nuisance and brainless as they don't know the difference between a harsh noise and sweet exhaust note like that of a FFE and other super bikes exhaust. They have started a crackdown, you can check on online
. I will measure it and update in next 2 weeks. Big Bore is next
.
@ Joel - * packaging of FFE was good no damages, can be better.
* If waiting period can be reduced as I had sleepless night waiting for FFE, I was dying to experience it and had dream once so real that i thought I had installed FFE
, but today I can sleep peacefully
. Thanks Joel.
Finally ther pic of my FFE on my P220Last edited by bryanfuryin22; 04-25-2012, 01:32 AM.

Noob Question coming up. Are those rivets a one time use things ? That is once we remove it cant it be used again ? Do we have to put in new ones ?--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

One time use and are called "pop rivets" to fit the rivets you need a pop rivet gun as shown by joelkraju.Originally posted by krish2778 View PostThanks a ton mate..I have to get this done soon.
