    • Guys, so far have comleted nearly 2000kms with the FFE from Joel ,but i got to ride it only some 300-400kms Rest were ridden by my brother. But i have put it through all the condition in those 400kms. So here goes the review.
The comparison is between 39,000kms with stock exhaust VS 2,000 kms with FFE.

Now Im going to divide it into 3-4 parts

In my personal opinion , it looks good. The small size is a welcome change from the large and chunky exhaust size(not that i hated it,i loved it too). But according to many people it is not looking good, but i'm not bothered.
And the difference is weight is also a very big thing, though not in looks still mentioning it here.It weighs less than half of the stock pipe.
The fit and finish is a little on the down side, welding is pretty neat, the build of the db killer is bit poor.

      Sound
Boy-o-boy. This is fun. Its just too kewl. I'm standing at the Service center listening to all the negative blabber from the store manager and mech about the exhaust being ugly and bad and all. I was expecting for a moderate change, something a bit loder that's it. After fitting i asked the guy to remove the db before the first startup. And when he did, man i went numb. It roared, like an angry wild beast. That moment i chucked the DB killer into my bag, acted like it never existed. The startup sound is the best. The idling is a nice and loud(not so loud) thumping like a bullet, but at the same time very different also. The whole character of the bike changed.
The sound till 4k is loud enough , take it above 4k and it gets even more insane.it sure is as hell addictive.
And during acceleration let go of throttle and it backfires , the sound is more bassier and boy do i love the backfire crackle.
With the Db killer, its more muffled, but still the sound is much different and more enjoyable than the stock, but once you go without DB , you will not like the sound with DB.

Initial pickup-Here is were i really loved the exhaust the most. Our bikes have a moderate pick up, it is nice, i dint have any complains earlier, but now its a staggering change, the initial pickup is just superb.
Mid range- Our bikes have a lot of torque in the mid-range of the rpm band and i for one always love to keep her in that bad as long as possible to extract maximum torque out of her. And it is more than enough to pull away or overtake other vehicles at needs. But now its gotten even madded and wicked. The mid range has increased substantially. Not sure how i will explain,a acc video will be the only justice. but lemme try, i was at 50 and acc hard, i looked back onto the road for many a sec or more and back to the speedo and it was kissing 90's. I freaked out and slowed down.
So that clears it the freeflow shows, the rpm climb is very very fast and smooth.
Higher range- Here too its very different, i personally felt the speed build up after 7.5-8 k was sluggish specially in 5th gear, but here its changed, pick up very good even after 8k Effortlessly builds up revs.

Another aspect , picks up in top gear even at small speeds, earlier anything below 40 and in 5th gear gave hiccups from the bike, but now it picks smoothly from 30-35kmph.
Sluggishness has been removed almost completely.

Now this department was the thing that took long and it surprised me above all.
This will have to be classified in two parts.
With Db killer- Joel claimed a 5% increase in Mileage, i was a bit skeptical at first, I'm not much of a mileage calculator, its no fun if you ride the 220 for mileage. but petrol prices does make me to bring mileage into the equation.
With the db killer more or less in mixed riding conditions(50% city 50% highway) i got upto 35-40kmpl, with stock i used to get same, sometimes even less(more of ripping)
W/O DB killer- So here goes 50+kmpl, in multiple occasions city and highway mixed, more of twisties, that means more throttle and brake play involved, that means more petrol used than highway, lesser than in city.
Speeds averaging 60 , occasional bursts till 100kmph. I had a hard time beleiveing it, my brother also conformed same mileage since he rode more of the 2k kms, i even tried in 2 different times and she returned 50+kmpl. Im elated and loving it.Another reason to chuck of the DB killer.

Now every product has -ves :
1.DB killer finish and exhaust finish is not quite on mark or what i expected.
2.Packing- have to make it more safer while courier
3.Center stand blocking plate is in wrong position and the hole for the stopper bush was too small, had to take it to lathe shop to fix that, though turned out useless as it was in the wrong position anyway.
4.Dint get any stickers/logo on it, so chances are people will mis interpret it as local made.(Not really a valid point)

So let me summaries , the bottom line is, performs loads better than the stock, shows the difference throughout the rpm band, the sound is just sexy, lots of eyeballs, more mileage than ever. What else can i ask for. I got everything i paid for. And that is what matters

Pretty long post i know, but thanks for reading it. I hope i have covered all aspects one might want to know. The write up might be a bit boring but tried to make it as informative as possible.

      Cheers Mates

Haha , bro DB killer hardly weighs more than 150gm i think, and the exhaust in lesser than half the weight of the stock. You wont believe how ridiculously lighter it is.

                      Oh, ok.
It is much more louder than the stock, even with the DB killer. The fact is if you ride along with the db killer you will enjoy the sound and the performance, but once you taste it without the DB killer then its not going back into the exhaust, because its just too much fun without it.

                              • Heres my long pending Review !!!!!!

Anyways the list of mods that I got done on my bike from RACE CONCEPTS are as follows-
Stage 1 head work (Got it done after my second service .At 5340kms!! As of now done approx 10000kms plus with the head work)
Free flow exhaust (Got it fitted at around 8000kms!! Done 5000kms plus)
230cc big bore kit! (Got it done at 15000kms!!! Done 900kms with the bore kit)

Ill go one by one as i got the mods done.

Anyways first let me put down my timings in my stock 220dts-i and about myself :P
                                I am around 50kg and 5.6ft tall.

My bikes stock timing of 0-132 came in 22 sec(This was the only proof of my timings on my stock p220 so i compare my timings to this :P)

                                Stage 1 Head work-
After the head work. The bike was responding way better then stock!!The bike felt rev happy!!It used to climb rpm so freely!!
And the smoothness!!It dint at all feel restricted now. smoothness throughout the rev range.Their was good improvement
through out the rev range the bike pulled pretty good. The main improvement can be felt at between 4000-8000 rpm .Better pull at this range.
Talking about average! It dint drop!!It was more or less same as stock !!When riding sanely got better avg then stock!! In all was pretty
                                much happy with this setup!!

Did timing of 0-132 with this setup. It came in 18 sec!!! Yes 18 sec Just with the head work!!

                                Free flow exhaust -
Got the ffe fitted at 8000kms or so!!It was direct fit.Dint require any adjustment or so!Plug and play thing!
The FFE came with Decibel killer.Though i hardly used the decibel killer. Can say just used the bike with decibel on for just around 4-5kms thats it.
Hardly half an hour :P Its lying in my house from then!!
Coming to the performance part,DAMN!! the bike revved like anything now!! throughout from 1000rpm to 11000rpm it pulled like anything!!
The bike revved so freely now and what pull!!!Massive improvement in mid range!! 1ST,2nd gear needed fast shift The rpm was climbing that fast.
Could rev limit in all the gears expect for 5th gear :P That too quickly!!
Did timing of 0-132 with head work plus free flow exhaust. It came in around 16.23 sec :O
0-400m timing came in 16.10sec :O With minimum headwind and proper shifts done.Exit speed in 400m was 132-133kmph
HEAD WORK with Free flow exhaust is the best starter setup for modding the bike and every person who wants some better acceleration and power should go for this setup
The difference from stock can be easily felt!! During a recent trip of around 250kms got an avg of 35kmpl.
With 70% cruising at speeds between 100-110kmph!!And 20% full throttle and 10% city riding.
Only issue was rusting!!For that I spray painted the exhaust with bosny HI-temp spray paint!!

Done around 10000kms with the head work and 6000kms with the ffe and their was no or heating issues or so.Just once had to change the rocker arm as bearing had gone
And as you know more is never enough!

                                230cc big bore kit-
Recently got the big bore installed!!
Done a proper run in of 500kms riding it under 4500rpm!!
During the run in .I dint feel much of a difference or so.The bike was performing more or less like the previous setup (head work+ free flow exhaust)
Post 500kms of run in!! Got the oil changed.Wanted to actually see if their was any improvement as in run in i dint feel any difference or so.
Whack opened the throttle and WOW!!! I was amazed .The pull was so amazing.MAD PULL.Man the torque :O.Missed to shift gear from 1st to 2nd.!!so fast the rpm climbed till 11rpm :O
The bike is now a total TORQUE monster!!Best setup for touring. In 5th gear at speeds of 50kmph open the throttle fully and within seconds it will cross the 100 mark and climb easily till 120

                                plus
and all that to upright.Even with a pillion it was the same case!!With pillion and both upright 120-130 came easily.Even at high rpm the bike is so smooth!!No vibs at all can be felt.Any day better then a stock 220.I can say it is better than ktm 200 in terms of performance. .YES I HAVE TEST RIDDEN THE DUKE!!hence I am saying
Big bore is one thing you should sure get!!Post run in did around 300kms or so and have abused the bike like anything. Most of the time red lining!!And their was no sign of engine problem or heating issues
During run in period riding under 4500rpm that is 65-70kmph got an avg of 40.3kmpl!!!

As for the timings here you go
                                0-60 in 3 sec
                                0-100 under 8 sec
                                0-120 in 11 sec
                                0-132 came in flat 15 sec!!! :O
                                All with rider weight 50kg

All in all am damn impressed with this setup!!
