LS2 Helmets India - Genuine or Fake ..??
Even i got "made in china" sticker below ear pad and ECE label stitched on strap. I got it from original distributor of laxmi automobiles in chennai. So i guess all helmets sold by laxmi automobiles are of same quality.Originally posted by princesirohi View Post"Made in China" sticker does not mean that it is fake helmet, all LS2 helmets are made in china only.
Only if there is something written in chinese language, then only it means that that the helmet is not meant for Indian Market and is not ECE certified.

Prince can you ask the dealer to produce a copy of the ECER certificate that he showed you on his computer? We can check the authenticity of that with the rating agency.

Re: LS2 Helmets India - Genuine or Fake ..??
ECER test report cum certificate that i saw on his computer is only of FF350 model, whereas we want certificates of all the models sold in india. i had asked him to share it with us, to which he said that if i want copies of such certificates, i should contact LS2 China (MHR), and on contacting LS2 china, they refused to share details, moreover, even if they share the certificate with us, it is of no use now, since there are other discrepancies like weight difference, FF351 being sold as FF350, models which are not on official website being sold here etc and the fact that most helmets in western countries come with dual certification i.e. DOT & ECE, whereas indian LS2 only comes with ECE. this raises suspecion that helmets for sale in india are manufactured seperately and their construction may be different than the ones sold in western countries. so now there is no point in seeing the certificates, coz they might be selling genuine ECE/DOT approved helmets in western countries, and selling substandard products in india.Originally posted by Revverend View PostPrince can you ask the dealer to produce a copy of the ECER certificate that he showed you on his computer? Sounds fair. Your post kind of summarises the discussion in the left few pages. What ticked me off is the manufacturer's reply. I know dealers can screw around however they want but the manufacturer has to own up to these. Its basic information asked by the end customer whose safety is at stake. Sounds like a big india centric nexus going on here. I am gonna share this thread as much as possible.
Btw I own a FF396 CT2.

Re: LS2 Helmets India - Genuine or Fake ..??
I had an issue recently where an FF351(LS2 Atmos Black Red) I bought had a sticker claiming a SHARP rating of 4, while the SHARP website itself claimed just a single star. I mailed Anil Gupta, LS2 UK and also tweeted LS2 Official about this. Here are the responses I received.
LS2 UK:
LS2 Twitter:Thanks for your email. Policies are different from country to country and also dealer to dealer so I may not be able to give you any suggestions rather than contact your local dealer.
Sharp rating is based on various criteria evaluating shock absorption tests, fitting, visor and retail price. The combination of the result of every single test correspond to the rating, 1 star is the lower 5 stars the higher. We have 12 models rated by Sharp and most of these are 4 stars helmets. Our FF 351 was always rated with 4 stars, a few months ago Sharp during their periodical tests found some results that were not the same they always had, mainly because the modification we have done for Bluetooth headset fitting. Ls2 has a collaborative relationship with Sharp and we started the procedure to have a retest.
The test result is related to a production batch that was supplied to our UK branch and that the stars has nothing to do with the safety level of our helmet that complies the 22.05 requirements.
Anil Gupta:FF351 is an evolution from FF350. LS2 is working to solve it as soon as possible.
Dear ashwin, the model which you have purchased is ff350.kindly check the sharp website for that.and also if you think you are not satisfied and if you have not used the helmet you ask the dealer for a refund.ls2 product are very high quality products.so I don't think you need to worry about.thanks

Re: LS2 Helmets India - Genuine or Fake ..??
I have one question. Might seem silly, but seeing that there are many here from Pune, I may be able to get help.
I had not seen this thread when I ordered my LS2 FF351 Atmos online, from The Riders Den, in Pune, Shop 5 Silver Plaza, in Fatima Nagar. I bought it from eBay and it had 98.4% positive feedback from buyers.
So does anyone know whether The Riders Den keeps genuine or fake LS2 helmets?
I have not received the helmet yet. It's probably going to arrive today. But he did send me the pics which I'm attaching.

From these pics, can anyone tell me whether this might be original or not?

Re: LS2 Helmets India - Genuine or Fake ..??
I appreciate this discussion, as I also own a LS2 FF322 Voltage helmet.
Only thing I wanted to point out was since months the LS2 helmets are out of stock on Acebiker.com this is really a shame when we are considering them authorised resellers of LS2. every helmet although seen on sale is OUT of stock.
I got mine from ebay The riders den shop (theridersden2012) based in Pune. The helmet seems original and has good performance. so far I have checked that the riders den gets good variety in LS2 and it sells off also quickly from his e shop.
Thanks
