Okk. So Ive been wishing to go in for a LS2 MX455 lately. But this thread ruffled some feathers here, till i get them back in order....what store should i hit on the basis on authenticity if im buying a LS2 helmet from Delhi ??.
Or buying it online via Acebiker would be more efficient and authentic??
And a query more...how do i figure out my head size while ordering online?? Although in person ill wear one and figure out what fits and what not in practical but thats not the case purchasing online.

Go to a shop and try LS2 helmet of your choice, check the size and buy online.

also, plz note that you will not find all the helmet sizes in all the models, not only for LS2, but for majority of helmets sold in india, they only sell the most common size.

thank you very much for responding to our queries, and also forwarding it to LS2 india distributor i.e. Laxmi Automobiles. we got a call from him and then i personally went there to discuss it with him, he clarified some of our doubts.

To give you some more background, we at india are a group of bikers and are members of www.xbhp.com (India's largest Biking community with over 50,000 members across India), we are discussing a lot about LS2 helmets, and want to know more about it. We are also in touch with Mr. Gavin McCaffery of TDT (Tech Design Team).

sorry to trouble you again, we have some more queries, and we would like an answer from the manufacturer, rather than Indian distributor --

I request you to kindly respond to our doubts in the best possible way, as it can go a long way in establishing trust & faith between LS2 and Indian Bikers and will benefit both in the long run.

As a customer, it is our right to know this information and as the manufacturer, it is your duty to provide this information.

You are asking the price, is it not confidential ?
We can answer any question from our agent only

For example, the weight, a little more a little less, it is within the reasonable range. because a helmet has many attachment, like manual.etc; and during production, a little more fiberglass glue, polish a little more, the weight can be difference

One point I want tell you is, the helmets we exported is under good quality and fit for international standard

For India market, frankly speaking, how many helmet you think is better than our helmets ? Same quality, our price is cheapper; same price, our quality is better, don`t you think so

It`s meaningless to cover anything, it is an agreement between us and our agents; The agent has right to answer his customer`s questions
If you want to know how to repaire a helmet, maybe I can tell you

I am not asking the price at which you sell helmets to indian agent. I am asking the price at which it is to be sold in india, if you are not comfortable discussing price, you can skip the price related question.

However, i feel that you should answer rest of the quality and certification related queries.

How can you say that a little more weight is ok, isn't it non-conformity to ECE certification. Will it not void the certification. The maximum variation allowed is only +/-50gms. The weight we found were much more than this, in fact the one helmet was more than 150 gms overweight.
Is this not poor quality control..??

I think you should answer all the queries except price related question.

I have no intention of doing business with LS2, i just wanted to ascertain the safety standard of LS2 hlmets sold in India, as i am also using an LS2 helmet.

So, from the above replies it is quite evident that LS2 China is in no mood to reply to our queries, they indirectly declined to respond to our questions.

i had also sent a similar e-mail to Mr. Anil Gupta, he also didn't respond, so today i called him, he said that he clarified all the things that he can, in our first meeting, and for more details i should contact the manufacturer.

In my opinion, he seems to be a nice person, but either he lacks the technical information or is hiding it.

However, he promised that very soon we will get MRP printed on all LS2 helmets, may be from next consignment onward.

So in a nutshell we can say that there is something fishy going one between LS2 and the distributor when it comes to Indian market, or else I dont see any reason for not answering the questions. They completely dodged the questions and didnt even bother to explain.

I henceforth is not recommending LS2 to anyone, if someone uses it, it would be at his own risk.

Based on the entire exercise to find the truth, my conclusion is that -->>

LS2 Helmets sold through Laxmi Automobiles and Buy Bike Accessories LS2 Helmets Sole Authorised India Online Partner - Acebiker Moto-deals are original and authentic LS2 Helmets made in China.

Some of the ways in which we can identify a fake helmet (or an LS2 helmet not meant for indian market) are mentioned in the first post.

ECE sticker on the back of helmet need not be embossed as actual label required is on the retention strap and is in line with ECER (Myth Busted)

There seems to be some difference in the quality of helmets sold in western countries as compared to those sold in India. this difference in quality seems to be more in higher priced helmets as compared to lower priced helmets

FF350 seems to be the most reliable model with 4 star SHARP rating and its ECE Certification, i have seen with my eyes.

The controversy regarding FF351 and FF350 models being mixed up can not be resolved.

FF351 has got poor SHARP rating as compared to FF350, and is being sold as FF350.

Even some models like FF358, do not have any certification.

FF 396, which is certified on SHARP rating is the FT2 model and not the carbon fibre model (CT2 or CR1), as it is clearly mentioned on SHARP website that it has fibre glass shell.

Since the company has denied to clarify our doubts, there is no real way to find out if the helmets we are getting is of same quality as originally certified by ECE.

In-fact my inference from his e-mail replies is that - "itne paise me itna hich milega"

Mr. Anil Gupta promised that very soon we will have MRP printed on all the helmets and prices will even be displayed on website.

Based on all these things, you can draw your own conclusions, whether to buy LS2 or not.

I suggest that we carry out similar exercise for other helmet brands also, which are in affordable segment (Rupees 3000 to 5000) and claim to be of superior quality.

It's really disappointing to read LS2's responses. I regret buying an LS2. I would never recommend LS2 to anyone in the future. In fact I advised a friend of mine who was looking for a new helmet to steer clear of LS2.

Just would like to write something to add to your conclusions :

When a company denies reasonable information from a customer / potential customer without any valid reasoning, it means that they are NOT adhering to the standards claimed by the company.

Your queries were reasonable and had the company been clean in its operations, it would have answered in detail about each and every query.

I am now confident that the helmets sold in India are in fact ECE non-compliant.
