my bike's last servicing was done when i have completed 2100km's and now i have completed 3000km's.The bike manual says the 3rd servicing should be done when the bike has completed 4500km's or 240 days from the date of sale.Isnt it having a long gap?

depends on the engine oil you're using, for a mineral oil the drain period should be anything between 500to 1000km,also you can feel the difference in the performance if the drain period of ur engine oil is nearing, and it depends on the riding pattern too.Originally posted by shaheen View Posthow often should we change the engine oil??

the mineral oil used By SC wont even last for a day,the next day engine becomes ROUGH,don't ever let the Sc goons change the engine oil,buy a can and do it yourself
and the time interval between every free service is 2500km,and all the free services should be completed within 240 days from the date of sale, itz not just for one service
EDIT--i switched from mineral oil( dunno which Shitty oIl Sc guyz were using) to motul 5100,the performance is just awesome,no leakage so far, motul has unleashed the true beast out of my p180,i am late to react,i should have never followed the manual,it says change the engine oil with a gap of 2500km damn.!Last edited by ceasar; 01-22-2010, 08:49 PM.-------------------------------

Yes go for motul for first, second and each servicing you do...don't be dependent on SC...when I put motul 3000 mineral oil in my p180 at first serving I didn't feel much difference for 200 kms after this distance motul has started unleashing real magic...gears are butter smooth now, a small nudge can change switch the gear easily and its become very easy to find neutral on the run...I don't know how better it would be when I will pour motul 5100 at second servicing..Originally posted by ceasar View Postdepends on the engine oil you're using, for a mineral oil the drain period should be anything between 500to 1000km,also you can feel the difference in the performance if the drain period of ur engine oil is nearing, and it depends on the riding pattern too.

P.S. : motul 3000 mineral oil is cheaper than SC shitty oil.

^yup, itz been almost 3months -4 months since i visited SC,yeah Motul 5100 is damn good,On the first i dint feel that much difference before and after pouring except for the fact that gears were really smooth,as days passed, slowly motul starts unleashing it semi syth power, getting sticked to the walls, engine revvs freely, butter smooth transition from 1st to 4th gears,pick-up has increased marginally, just with one small twist bike cruises at 60,shifting every gear at 5k is absolutely stress free.
as some one said engine oil makes a hell lot of difference
I don't know how better it would be when I will pour motul 300V FL

btw, what is the magnitude of the vibration? it is not that much, its felt at foot pegs, tank slightly.Doesn't make much difference, does it?-------------------------------
