    TOOK MY SISTER FOR A RIDE TODAY. (TOOK ADVANTAGE OF THE HARTAL ). ITS THE SECOND TIME SHE EVER GETS ON A BIKE I THINK. AND FOR THE FIRST TIME ON MINE. I WAS RIDING LIKE 30-35 KMPH. STILL SHE WAS SACRED AND HOLDING ME SO TIGHT THAT IT WAS HARD FOR ME TO BREATHE. . WHEN BACK HOME, SHE TOLD DAD "HE RIDES SO FAST. I WAS REALLY SACRED". I WAS LIKE AND AT THE SAME TIME.
    , it happens for first timers... My 3.5 year old daugher has no issues at all ....she is used to riding since last two years, I crisply remember she enjoyed the first ever ride and since then she's somewhat addicted too!....but I never cross 40kmph with kids/older folks on bike..whatever the road conditions be..

      Aneesh, that sounds logical as the 20w40 has more weight...even I have used two oils on my old ambition blue colored 20W40 & golden 10w30 later...I can say 10w30 gave me better mileage...

      • If one uses 20w40 oil the performance and mileage will be lesser than the one using 10w30 but 20w40 will feel a lot smoother

        • I'm getting very low mileage on my Cbz xtreme i.e between 30-40 in extremely rare cases i get above 50. I changed the spark plug and airfilter recently even then i'm getting such low mileage please help me in this and i don't want the mileage tune it.

            How 20W40 oil reduces power and mileage?many had said that using 20W40 will reduce performance and mileage.It is the recommended grade for old karizma.As per user feedback,20W40 oil increases smoothness of engine and reduces heat output.Not sure about mileage.

            @psr
            Will mileage decrease if we use 20W40oil instead of 10W30 oil?

              After I used 20w40 in my ZMA mileage had not gone down but remains at 32 to 34 Kms in city....but the old HH oil which was in the bike before was black and to my mind was useless...I do sudden accelerations from 30 to 80 in city and slow down again due to traffic...
              But the bike had become very smooth after switching to 20w40 and that is what is impressive...the heating had also gone down..

                So its sure that mileage wont decrease. What about power?Will it decrease?Acceleration will become sluggish if we use xW50 oil.I dont think this will happen in the case of 20W40 oil...

                  That is the nicest thing you do for your daughter...makes me remember my own kid who is now pestering me for a bike.Your care for the kids/older people by not exceeding 40Kmph shows you are a very responsible rider..Do keep up the Values and care..

                    With 20w40 the increase in engine rpm will be a bit slower compared to 10w30, and the heating and engine noise will be subdued.You will slowly start hearing the exhaust beat and more so the rattling of the fairing.You will find it difficult to judge rpm and speed,since the engine noise will be less.

                      So will it affect the rpm?Could you please make it more clear to me?

                          It will not affect RPM. What I meant was because the engine becomes less noisy you may not be able to judge as to what the approximate RPM or speed is....many long time riders(including me) judge speed and rpm through engine clatter.

                            Since you had changed the air filter and spark plug recently, kindly indicate the Odo reading,the color of the spark plug, and your riding style and gear shifting pattern.

                            • I changed the spark plug and airfilter at 11k just because the manual says it and now the odo is 11.5k and gear shifting pattern in highway is between 6 and 7 and less than 5 in city and in highway i try to keep the speed between 80 to 100 and in city around 60 to 80
