Poor Mileage could be due to many reasons, tyre pressure to carb settings, dozens of reasons. I guess your bike is new and better take it to HH svc station and complain to supervisor, tell him you are getting 30 not 38, he will take it seriously. If the bike is not new, do the same at the next svc. and tell him your concern is only mileage issue, things should work out ? Ask him specifically to overhaul carb and clean it with petrol, only trained mechanic can do this job well, in B'luru, they call him 'head mechanic'.

Try Shell AX 7 10w40 ss and you will not be disappointed.

I have using it for over 1k km on my extreme. Satisfied with it. For summer's, I feel the best grade would be 10w50 if available.
guys..if you ever need blood or want to donate blood, please refer to this site :

Do you ever notice that when you're driving, anyone going slower than you is an idiot and everyone driving faster than you is a maniac ?

I can roll out type pressure and carb setting because i check the air regularly to recommended pressure and in the previous service i asked the supervisor to check and correct carb setting. I gotta do the overhaul part. Should i get the exhaust cleaned or some thing like that because i was using rich mixture for quite a long time(2k kms).

When you complain that you get 30kmpl instead of 38kmpl, that guy will surely diagonise with care and will most likely overhaul the carb, get it done in front of you. Ask him to charge for the overhaul in advance, he may charge 100-150, but worth doing as you have headache of poor mileage. Tell him that you will take the bike after mileage testing. Be there at svc centre and tell him you are worried..

And don't touch carb settings, why did you run with rich mixture ? don't meddle with carb.
Exhaust cleaning is not required, just leave it alone.

I had asked for performance tuning while giving for service and they just put it on rich mixture and gave it back.

                1. Check for proper air filter fitting,
                2. Overhaul, clean & set carb for default AFR.

Inform mechanic all the symptoms and don't forget to mention mileage as 30kmpl, instead of 38.

                • Ok and 1 question out of curiosity
Is it possible to complete a saddle sore on Cbz xtreme? Even if possible will it screw up the bike?

                  • My extreme's rear brakes have become a showpiece now, i can easily ride with the lever pressed down. Told the service guys alot of times but nothing seems to be worlking.
Last week when i was riding in the ghats it was very difficult to control but in normal city ride front disc is more than enough. Please suggest what to do as its becoming very annoying for me.
By the way my cbz ran for 11000 kms

The brake shoes will be worned out i guess... take it to a local mech and check whether the brake shoes had worned out or not,if worned out ,it needs a replacement.
