And yea it shows less than what we tuned to and can u tell me u r idle rpm settings bro?Originally posted by itssaurabh.negi View Postyes dat is one of the factors responsible.Same happened to me but make sure to initially accelerate (slightly so that it doesnt stalls) and keep engine idle for 2-3 minutes after u start the bike.and when engine is hot, also check the IDLE RPM, it myt b showing less than that u have tuned it to.mine was automatically changed to ~1200 from ~1500 after oil change from 10W30 to 20W40.
Aside this u wud definitely feel the difference in engine sound now, trust me on this.

20W40 needs more time to warm up and flow when compared to 10W30,Just set the idle rpm to 1500 when it is hot,and warm up bike for 2-3 minutes.Do not accelerate very hard,be gentle with throttle.Originally posted by Kalli12 View PostI cant even keep the engine in idle it just stops after 5-6 secs and can u tell me what is the default idle rpm or what suits best if the engine oil is 20w40 i mean how much it should be intially and how it should be in cold/heat conditions
You could have gone for the 10@30 Gulf if it was raining there.

So should i keep the idle rpm at 1500 all the time? i tried increasing it but the engine went on harder side during acceleration so lowered back to 1....please help me in detail on how to solve this problem so that then bike wont stop and starts in just 1 or 2 selfs

actualy eninge will b faacing higher viscousity oil in between its parts so the IDLE RPM would decrease 4 sure from wat u were previously tuned to.. Just start the bike.Slowly increase the throttle to 2K or so.then leave it so dat it comes back to ~1.5K again repeat 2-3 times and after that keep it idle for 1-2 minuted.then slowly increase the speed as u move on.......Originally posted by Kalli12 View PostSo should i keep the idle rpm at 1500 all the time? i tried increasing it but the engine went on harder side during acceleration so lowered back to 1....please help me in detail on how to solve this problem so that then bike wont stop and starts in just 1 or 2 selfs
and afterfew minutes of ride set IDLE RPM to 1500 or so...dats it..
I hope u get it right

I agree with Aneesh & Saurabh , on my new splendor+ I had to take the bike to the HH service after I changed to 20w40 oil very soon .. there was that much difference in tuning just by change of the oil grade .. there they retuned both the Idle & AFR ratios with a hand-held rpm meter and it's been perfect ever since . Funny thing is that I never had to do this when I changed to 20w40 on my cbz-x which was much older @ higher mileage (kms) . I am not sure what mechanism is at work here .. but since retuning the carb worked for me & it is free at HH service center .. I'd say you try it too , it'll workOriginally posted by Kalli12 View PostOk heres a new problem i changed the engine oil around 4 days go and since the next day when ever i start the bike wouldnt start even if it starts it will run for 5 seconds and then suddenly stop or when i change to first gear it stops i need to accelerate it so that it doesnt stop.... and the oil changed to is gulf 4T 20w40 and its heavy rains here(Maybe this got something to do with it) or the is it the idle rpm problem?

These mods wont increase your bike performance, may be your mileage may increase by 2 or 3kms,IMO,Stay away from this mod.Originally posted by manojm1991 View Posthi,

Its better to use Mineral oil during runin period,Your bike had already done 1.8K for best results,I would say stick to mineral oils like gulf Pride 4T Plus 20W40 and you can try synthetic or semi synthetic only after doing 6000+ kms.3. i've done 1.8k kms on my CBZ X. i wish to change the engine oil brand at 2nd service. i checked for motul in many places near my location but its not available. which other oils are gud for my bike? if any1 knew where to get them in kerala, it wud be of great help.

i too perfer mineral oil. i was looking for motul 3000 4t plus 10w30. only doubt is in the grade. the manual says 10w30. which is better & available in kerala?Originally posted by Aneesh@4GHz View PostIts better to use Mineral oil during runin period,Your bike had already done 1.8K for best results,I would say stick to mineral oils like gulf Pride 4T Plus 20W40 and you can try synthetic or semi synthetic only after doing 6000+ kms.
i too saw that in ngk site, but i saw a poster of ngk in a spareparts shop which said iridium plugs are available for cbz x, hunk, etc. when i asked the guy over there, he said that the poster came only a day before & he dint know anything about its availability. i'll let you know the part numbr on the poster.Originally posted by Aneesh@4GHz View Postsigpic

Motul is hard to get here,Search for Gulf Pride 4T Plus 20W40.225rs/L,I have been using it in my karizma last 1800kms,less vibrations, smooth and cool engine.i too perfer mineral oil. i was looking for motul 3000 4t plus 10w30. only doubt is in the grade. the manual says 10w30. which is better & available in kerala?

k. the manual says 10w30. will there be any problem if i use 20w40? do you know which oil grade HH SVC is using?Originally posted by Aneesh@4GHz View PostMotul is hard to get here,Search for Gulf Pride 4T Plus 20W40.225rs/L,I have been using it in my karizma last 1800kms,less vibrations, smooth and cool engine.

Hahahaha,You getting nearly 70's in highways still need more mileage?Originally posted by manojm1991 View Postnow i get 50-55kmpl in city, 65-70kmpl on highway.

My karizma is giving me 31 in city and 41 in highway and i am 100% happy with it.
Happy to know that you are getting good mileage figures.
You can use any JASO MA2 speced oil and try to avoid castrol oils because fakes are available in market.HM(Hero Moto) SVC guys uses HM OEM 10W30 oil supplied by the company but that oil will turns bad after a 300kms ride and engine will starts overheating and harsh!k. the manual says 10w30. will there be any problem if i use 20w40? do you know which oil grade HH SVC is using?
20W40 oil will reduce vibrations, smooth engine and will last more than 2500kms.
