Regarding the throttle control thingie, is it all safe..? If so, some one who dare and has the right knowledge plese do try it out fast.. It will help many souls here.. including me..

one more doubt ..in case my self start goes Kaput(in worst case..), how i m supposed to start my bike, and do u think k it is good move to remove kick start from bth Hunk and cbz-x latst model as well as FZ/P220 . . .though battery is MF but still there are so many other component that can't be completely reliable .. Thanks
Yes , saurabh , good idea ... I need to check all my bikes plugs too .. been procrastinating it for months now .
The self is a feature made essential today by our poor traffic management system . It is not essential to totally eliminate the kick-start system to implement a self-start system . i.e they are doing it just for cost-cutting whereas new bikes without kick should be sold cheaper by 4000-5000 Rs ( the same amount they'd charge anyone to install it on a new bike that doesn't have it ) . They should provide option to buyer of having kick or not .
Well .. for that .. they should provide option to buyer about all parts of a new bike ... like say Tyres , Handles style , headlamp , chain-cover , single/double seat , De-badge the bike , Battery , Horns , Meter-instruments , fairings , carb/fuel-injection etc etc .... by me, buyers should have all options at the time of buying .... and not run around to waste money & time to upgrade this and that just after purchase of new bike like us .

              • Took her for a 260km on the highway and some city ride too. To my surprise, got a mileage of 47+ kmpl @ 80+ speeds against 43 kmpl @ 45-50 speeds.
Its just superb above 70 kmph. Pakka smooth.

But a new problem has emerged. While shifting from 4th to 5th, sometimes the lever simply moves but the shifting does not happen. Feels like the gear lever is not connected to the gearbox.
Have anyone faced ths problem..? What could be the reason..?

No man..thats not the reason. I tried with full clutch and no clutch at all. This is somthing else. Also, once when I shifted 4-5, there was a sudden raise in RPM as if it went into nutral and then fell back to 4th with a loud bang. Something is wrong somewhere in my gearbox..

On my old yamaha bikes ... you'd put the bike into a lower gear .. press in the clutch lever ... run for a few meters to build up some speed ... then suddenly let go the clutch lever ... and it would start up vrooooom . Dunno if same thing would work with HeroHonda bikes , never tried on them . Yamaha bikes have a primary-kick ... hero-honda had secondary-kick .. these new bikes have no-kick ...so ... try kar ke batao yaar .

dats wat i was thinking initially but everybody tells me not to try this as this would severly affect my engine.Though in emergency its d only option left ... i hope this will never happen to me but gar ho gya to try karunga

                          regards

I faced the same problem so many times before my first service . What I used to do then was suddenly catch the clutch and come back to 4th and run for some time and again engage 5th.This seemed to be a problem of seating (engagement ) of gear selector with engine and 5th gear wheel after 1st service this never occurred for me

, The service people had put some grease on all joints of the gear lever (3 or 4 pieces are there.)and I took to even90km after 1st service and did a non stop 500+km ride also

so get it done and go to M.C road take good speed in 4th and 5th gears.so that the selector gets seated. In a ride only change from 4to 5 then 5to 4 and repeat some times.

as aneesh@4GHz had pointed check the free play of clutch also.

The problem seems almost gone now. Hasn't showed up in the last 200 kms. Clutch free play is just fine. Like 0.5 to 1 cm at the tip of the lever.

                              @ ekm-biker
Yep dude. Good speeds seem to have helped. Yesterday been to ekm and touched 105 on edapally-vaitila stretch. After that the problem hasn't showed up.
Pinne, to have some speed, MC Road isn't the only choice. Thodupuzha-Muvatupuzha road is more than enough.. (as u may know)
