when i first decided to buy a bike, i decided to go for gs150. but when i went to the showroom to enquire, the response was real bad. they didnt even look at me and carelessly replying, no booking now. i felt real bad. then i had a tough time deciding which bike to go for. but finally decided to go with the new cbz xtreme. and i'd say i''m fully satisfied and i'm loving every km of the ride.

Feedback is negative only regarding the spare parts availability. I've heard no one having negative opinions regarding GS150R

They seems to promote only new and in stock bikes rather than GONNA BE OUT or already OUTDATED bikes. In dehradun i can see HERO showroom full of Impulses and very few CBZ/HUNK as of now

Best way is to get a test ride somehow and se how it suits you.Originally posted by punarvasu View Post...
The average FE I am getting still is about 60-64 kml and I am completely satisfied with overall performance of my bike.
What 60-64 ?? Its too much yaar :P.

Lost compression again - bike started just fine today but after 5 mins on the road it stuttered to a stop-i thought i ran out of petrol as it was below reserve-so filled it up by pushing it to the nearest bunk-but when i tried to kick start it to life the kicker was just moving freely without any resistance-tried push starting it in first gear -no success- so push started in 2nd and voila it came back to life .
For those who are not familiar the exact same thing happened 8 months ago here is that thread
:
in those 8 months didnt use the bike much- only 4500KMs done-Dont know what i will do now
.
I am getting 38-39Km/l only now .
UPDATE : the UPS battery is doing great for the past 300KMs-dont know how long it will last lol.Last edited by sarbanoxley; 02-08-2012, 09:58 PM.

U own cbz-x 2011 is i m not wrong. Ur shockers musr be adjusted to stiffer settings. I had a sort of juggad for the valves.. i used the existing valves, put lapping paste on it, held the valve on a drill machine chuck (small hand held ones) and polished both the valve stem and seat.
since this, the bike is running fine...
my bike also had the same problems as you did.. however, my valve had been scratched and the seal seemed cracked hence i changed the seal also...
the dirt had entered due to the K&N and had scratched the valve...Suffering from Parked Motorcycle Syndrome

^^I never used K&N -they changed the valve seal and polished the old valves only-cost me just Rs445 for the whole job - No drop in oil level just checked-no smoke-no oil deposits on the silencer - so i think it could just be a bent valve no ?
.
The last time SC guy said the valves cost something like Rs 700(not sure) -they will add labor charge as well to that figure- i am looking at Rs1000-1200 as damage i think -hope ma engine is ok as that will cost a bomb to repair
.
Anyway what caused this thing to go kaput like this so often ?
Wish i lived in chennai or something -the good SC i know is like 100KM's away -the head mech there told me he just came to work after a long holiday-told me to bring the bike after monday only

In Karizma this problem had occurred twice to me ,and is a random problem....Typically after riding for some time, you park the bike for 10 min or more and then when you try to start ,it will not, and the kicker will go down freely without any compression resistance. in about 5 to 6 kicks the compression will be back suddenly and bike will start and run as if there was nothing wrong with it....Originally posted by sarbanoxley View Post-no oil deposits on the silencer - so i think it could just be a bent valve no ?

My guess is that the decompressor is getting stuck leading to the valves remaining open and hence loss of compression. So far all those who reported this problem in ZMA have not had any serious engine problem and are still using the bike for more than 5 K Kms...including me.When Was The Last Time,You Did Something For The First Time.

^^ It started with a couple of kicks -but stopped soon after- for more than a month i have been observing the pressure on the kicker when you kick start was reducing-it was getting easy even a baby could kick start it- as usual being the dumb idiot that i am - didnt care as long as the bike started
-should have taken it to the head mech in vellore as soon as i observed that .
I change the engine oil every 1000Kms -just changed it few days back-what a god damn waste now
.

The way it happens in ZMA is that the kicker will go down without resistance for 5 or 6 kicks then recover and start and thereafter will be normal,....till it repeats again.Originally posted by sarbanoxley View Post^^ It started with a couple of kicks -but stopped soon after- for more than a month i have been observing the pressure on the kicker when you kick start was reducing-it was getting easy even a baby could kick start it- as usual being the dumb idiot that i am - didnt care as long as the bike started

If you are progressively loosing the kicker resistance and ALSO performance loss, then Sticky/or bad Valve seating to be suspected. When Was The Last Time,You Did Something For The First Time.
